Choosing Estee Lauder's Doublewear shade with phone app?

Did anyone watch the show last night? Has anyone found their shade by letting your phone find your shade? Just wondering if it works. There's so many shades to choose from.

Did anyone buy anything last night? I almost bought the bronze goddess duo.

I tried it out and, to my surprise, it was remarkably easy and accurate! I say "accurate" in the sense that it recommended a shade or two that was exactly what I had chosen for myself (previously) in their hydra futurist Foundation - which is a fantastic foundation, by the way. I'm tempted to try double wear foundation, but I am !oving their hydra futurist foundation....so I will probably stick with that.

@San Antonio Gal I've been using Estée Lauder's DW foundation for years in my perfect shade. So I wanted to test their QR code shade color match on my phone. I did it about six months ago, and it was my exact perfect shade. I did again this morning, and again, it's my exact perfect shade.

@San Antonio Gal Three TSVs for me...one for me and Hanukkah gifts for the GDs. I didn't use the phone because there isn't a shade light enough for me. I have this makeup for clients and many shades. They love it , request it and usually go to counter and purchase one for themselves within the week.

A good tip if not sure about Double Wear foundation (or any foundation) shade: Purchase a shade lighter and the one you think is the correct shade. You can return one...but the shades run a bit darker than pictured or how they look in the bottle. You can then mix and play chemist to get the correct shade.

I always prefer to use a lighter shade in the center of the face and a bit darker around the perimeter of the face to add dimension to the face. One shade alone sometimes looks mask-like because no one's face is one color all over.

@Shanus Know Estee Lauder is high end in quality and cost but wow, the eyeshadow pans are tiny. Those are full size - really? Doesn't even look like brush would fit on those. Other "full size" products to me seem unlikely as they are so small. Anyway, there are enough good size products in this TSV to maybe make it worth it. At least there are lots of products to try.

Oddly, I did try scanning the code with my phone, and my skin is a bit darker because it's summer, yet, the code actually scanned my skin a shade lighter than my usual color. I had my foundation shade done at Sephora and swear by this foundation (2N2). I also found it disappointing that I was asked to choose the "warmth" when the presentation made it sound like the scanner would figure that part out for us. Obviously not a big deal to select, based on whether my skin burns easily, or not, but I was bummed that the scanner didn't work as presented.

I have never used Estee Lauder cosmetics--primarily because they sell a scent that makes me ill at the cosmetic counter. 🥴

Perhaps I am confusing your grandchildren with someone else's, but I thought they were young-ish. Do you think this set is appropriate for young ladies?

@magicmoodz The older one is 12 1/2 and the other 9. The skincare and red lips will go to their Mom, I'm sure. They love to play with makeup and better this than mine. They'll love the case for their jewelry, too.

@monicakm They showed a square to hold your phone against, but nothing is more accurate than going to counter for a match. I usually prefer the fairest neutral shade offered in a foundation and it has a bit too much pink for me. Nothing's worse for a makeup routine than beginning with the wrong shade of foundation.

You can go to their site for a chart of shades, but all monitors are different.
