Cream Blush Application

Thinking of trying cream blush. In reading articles and reviews of different ones, it seems people have different ways of applying it - fingers, beauty sponge, brush (really, a brush?). I always thought it was applied with fingers. Can't quite see how you could apply it with a brush or which brush you would use.

Anyway, would like to know if you wear cream blush, how do you like to apply it? If you use a brush, please let me know which type of brush you use. For some reason, I think that would be hard to do.

after my foundation has set a few minutes...I tap it on and then I gently tap it more and more where I want it to go. I much prefer a cream I'm 62

@JudyL I've gone to cream blush because my skin is much drier than it used to be. I use my fingers and then blend it with a sponge.

Good luck with it. My challenge is finding a shade that I like.

I wear cream blush and I have applied with a brush! I also use my finger tips or a beauty blender. It just depends. The brush tecnique I use is pretty easy. I use a lot ELF brushes. So most of mine are that brand.

I don't use the flat kind of blush brush that is shaped almost like an oval. You know what I mean? Rather, I use one that has a smaller fluffier round head. Then I very lightly pick up some of the cream with the top bristles. And then I apply on the top of my cheekbone and blend.

I know many people put it on the apples of the cheeks. If your younger, it probably looks great there. But I have found as I've gotten older (GASP!) putting it higher raises your face up.

I think the trick to any cream blush is to blend it well. Because it's more moist, it can have a ton of color. So it takes practice. If I get too heavy handed, I will use my blender or concealor brush (that has some make up leftover on it) to blend even more.

This weekend I forgot my blush so I took my lipstick and dabbed to onto a lid. Swirled my middle finger around in the color which moved the excess off and applied to upper ridge of cheeks and smoothed down.

It looked great....just the hint of color I wanted. Necessity is the mother of invention !

I have a doll 10 cream blush that I love. I bought it off the Q a couple of years ago and it came with a brush. The brush looks similar to the foundation brushes sold with many foundations on here, just a bit smaller with a flat top

Unfortunately, cream blush never lasts on me. It'll look nice right when I do my makeup but it always ends up disappearing. 🤷‍♀️

I tap it in after my foundation, I have never used a brush for mine. I love love love Giorgio Armani's cream blush, it lasts forever, both in the bottle and on your face....It is very expensive, but it really does last!

Best to dab lightly the cream blush. I use my fingers. I apply it after my foundation.

I only use cream blush unless I set it with the same color in powder blush on very hot, sweaty days. I use a round, tightly packed foundation brush (BB"s Full Coverage Face Brush) to apply foundation or tinted moisturizer.

After applying the cream blush w/ another smaller brush, I use my foundation brush to help blend it in and mute it down since it still has the foundation on it.

I use my fingers to tap cream blush after my foundation has set. I have also used a stippling brush like MAC 187, to apply.

As I've said on here before, I've always used lipstick as my cream blush. I apply after my moisturizer and before my foundation. I swipe on a spot of lipstick, then blend with either a foundation brush or my fingers. Swirl, swirl, swirl. After I get my blush how I like it and looking natural, then I brush on a thin layer of foundation. For me, the "blush" color lasts all day.

I only own two cream blushes. Just not a big fan. One is by Doll 10 and is in a compact. I apply that with the large end of the IT Cosmetics Complexion Perfection double ended brush. I tried with my fingers but I don't get a good application, maybe because it's in a compact.

I recently bought the CoverGirl Clean Fresh Cream Blush that comes in a tube. I put a little on the back of my hand and then use an ELF stipple brush to apply it. Again, I tried tapping it in with my fingers, which does work but I like the brush better.

With both I will take my sponge and go around and soften the edges.

@JudyL I tried it with no luck applying. If you buy a really nice powder it will glide on the skin like it's cream. That's what I decided to do. P.S. Nordstrom has makeup on sale.
