Growing out Bangs

I am looking for tips on how to get through growing out my bangs! I'm 2 months into this and it is at an uncomfortable state - over my eyes but not enough to pull behind my ears!! Anyone have suggestions? I work in the public and wear glasses, so I have my glasses,and mask to deal with too. I tried a headband but that didn't stay in place when wearing a mask.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

I use pins and clips to keep hair off my forehead. There are some very nice ones if you look around. I mostly use this kind. These stay in my hair.

Or good old-fashioned bobby pins if you want to be more discreet.

I use the clips, as previously stated and sometimes use a faux hair braid headband. The headband is available on Amazon was under $20.

Bobbi pins. I grew out my bangs once and went back to bangs because my hair ended up being all in my face but I wore a mid length bob. I love my bangs and they take off a few years to your looks.

Can you curl them a little to take up some length until they are more grown out?

@Denise in PA When I grew out my bangs, same time I was growing out layers and the rest of my hair, I braided the bangs. Yes, it wasn't more than a few twists to start, but I could pin the braid under the first section of hair to hide the ends and hit it with hair spray. As the bangs grew out, of course the braid was easier to do and eventually the entire bang area was long enough to tuck behind my ears. Good luck because I know first hand it's a "process".

Growing out bangs is such a P.I.T.A! I did it years ago, and will never have bangs again. The contant having to trim them was a bother. Hang in there - you will get there soon!

I'm doing the same. I'm growing all of my hair out. I just ordered a bunch of nicer clips/barrettes from Amazon.

I don't know what color your hair is but they have light and dark bobby pins. I used the light ones for mine. Now I use a really thin headband. You can tuck the bobby pins in behind other hair so you don't see them much.

I did that a few years ago. "Bobby pins"....the stylish kind were wonderful. They actually look good, too.

Thank you for the ideas.

I have white hair so the bobby pins show. I was able to hide one under a layer of hair today! The clips break my hair (coarse hair) so I try to avoid using them. I'm going to try braiding them today so see how that goes. If I'm at home, I pull them up on top of my head and use a coated elastic hair holder. Kinda look like Pebbles from the Flintstones - LOL.

I need to get through another 2 months and I should be through this process.

@Lali1 Yes, Amamzon had grey ones and white ones that I ordered to hold my hair when I put it up or back...just a few shorter pieces left.

I use a wide barrel curling iron and blend them into my hair. I don't like the look of clips or bobby-pins.

You could do a side-swept bang and move bangs towards one side (a straightener can help train them).

@Denise in PA Change up your hair part to offset the awkward stage helps too. I also implemented some hair accessories and a lot of patience. NEVER again would I have bangs!!! Good luck as it can be trying.

I did this last year. I went to the drug store and bought an assortment of narrow headbands. I recommend the ones with the little teeth - preferably a name brand like Goody. I bought a four pack that included black, blue, toffee and brown. I'm still using them even though my bangs are the same length as the rest of my name.

You might want to check out the headband selection over on etsy especially the ones with buttons on the side to attatch your facemask to. Lots of cute unique headbands.
