I read an article a while back about the company that first bought Laura Geller going bankrupt. Glansaol went under and AS beauty bought Laura Geller with the intention of "rebranding" it. When I saw the dreaded "R" word, I was worried - here we go again. But reading more, it seemed they were concerned about Laura's original customers.

I always enjoy Laura's shows because she TEACHES. I know the first company hired someone to be CEO, and I'm not sure how much influence Laura had in developing the products. But this new company seems to be developing products that once were important in her line. I see Baked eye shadows, REAL DEAL concealer, and most important, LAURA happily teaching on my screen!

Maybe we will return to the glory days of Laura Geller cosmetics!

When Laura first sold her company her makeup shop on Lexington Ave in New York City closed.It would be great if the new owner would reopen it.
The few times I frequented the shop the makeup artists were very friendly & helpful.I also got a lot of samples.

I really like Laura and her products! I don't really care to watch or listen to most cosmetic presentations, but she is really down to eath and has such a pleasant way about her.

Laura looks great with her hair off her face! She looked wonderful last night! Yes, and she's a good teacher!

One of the best shadow palettes I got is from her. I often use as liner. I'm sure it is obsolete by now....just 4 in the palette, but some would think it too sparkly. No, it isn't, but I guess that is a matter of preference.

Unfortunately, none of her liners ever worked for me. Nor the lip things. I've never tried her B&B or any of her foundations or blushes.

I don't talk about her products too much, but some are pretty darn good. My biggest gripe? The packaging. The tops of the compacts break. I've been left with open to the air blushes and highlighters...too late to return, so I stopped purhasing. I did contact CS awhile ago and suggested they use a different manufacturer for packaging. It seems to be an issue throught the site. They did admit that.

@NicksmomESQ Many years ago when commuting to New Jersey/New York to work with Bobbi, I did sneek into Geller's store. What a wonderful place to "play"!!!

I don't remember how I managed to do the weekly commuting with school aged kids, but obviously I got it done. Fortunately, the NC to NY flights stopped and I just did the NC/SC/VA region...much easier to manage.

....A bit of history: Although I was born in upstate NY, we rarely ventured into into the big city...a 2 1/2 hr. trip. So, when I took the job with Bobbi Brown's beginning company, I was more skeptical of the big city than starting the job. I didn't know my way around on foot like most New Yorkers and after several weeks of almost being trampled by the crowds when stopping to ask for directions, I started taking cabs. On one trip up from NC, I took my pre-teen daughter (dying to meet Bobbi and only an overnight meeting). Her comment about NY? "Hey Mom, why does everyone drive yellow cars?" LOL

Oh that's a shame @Shanus but I am surprised to hear that complaint.

I have literally drawers full of LG products and have never had a single problem.

@Shanus - What an amazing career you've had! And how wonderful your children could see the opportunity you had and what was possible in life! You had my dream job - probably the dream job for everyone who plays with makeup!

I grew up with a makeup-loving mom, so of course I followed in her shoes. Of course the selection wasn't there. She wore Estée Lauder and Maybelline. Max Factor pancake makeup and Revlon Cherries in the Snow were her staples when I was a little girl.

I have always been "late" to the popular lines. My friends all wore Clinique; I wore Estée Lauder. I didn't try Bobbi until about 15 years ago. I just tried Bare Minerals maybe about 10 years ago.

I have a few of Laura's blushes, a bronze and brighten as well as two of the Balance and Brighten - one in fair and one in light. I use the powder on days I won't be going anywhere and just want a quick "evening out" of the complexion.

Hey, her blushes are listed in Wayne Goss's top ten blushes, so she's doing something right. I do find they last during the day. I can't get a Nars blush to last more than two hours!

@Shanus, I didn't know you were a 'home girl' from upstate NY - just north of Albany here!

@beach-mom I wanted the job w/ Bobbi because I didn't like makeup that much....loved the natural look more. She saw that and tapped me. Thanks. It has been a lot of fun.

Got it today. The box says it's a blush which is why I bought it, but there's no real color to it. It looks pretty, but there's zero color when I brush it on my cheeks. Is this really more of an all-over product you sweep on your face? Help!

I always used it as a blush. I am light to medium skin tone with cool undertones. My waitlist order should be here Monday or Tuesday so will try it once I get it.

glad you are getting your rose blush. I ordered at the very beginning of the presentation on 1/30 and it still says preparing your order. It did sell out, but mine hasn’t shipped yet. Hope it ships soon.

@JudyL Glad to hear you have good luck with it. I returned mine today. It just looked like shimmer with zero color on me. I'm medium skin tone with who-knows-what undertones!!! Love LG stuff otherwise.

OMG, My Mother was also a makeup junkie! And she also wore Revlon "Cherries In The Snow" lipstick. It was my Dad's favorite color on her he always said she's was beautiful when she wore it! Her foundation of choice was Merle Norman Powder Base and still is today! I'm a 3rd generation MN wearer! Fabulous products! Small world!

I found some Laura Geller products in my makeup graveyard a few weeks ago and have been wearing them ever since. I've been using Balance N Brighten and Bronze N Brighten. I normally don't like bronzers, but this one has looked really nice on me (I have fairly light skin) and I was happy to find it. The Balance N Brighten has also been nice. I think I have a Balance N Brighten in Fair some place, if I find it I'll be using that next. These products last a really long time. I'm also just finishing a Blush N Brighten in Berry. My tops also broke, unforunately.
