Beauty Mystery Boxes

Do you buy mystery boxes? I will not buy a box for $50 and up, without seeing what's inside. I always feel the company isn't putting their best products in the boxes, maybe items that didn't sell well. I did once buy a mystery box from Bare Minerals, I ended up returning it.

No mystery boxes for me. I won't even purchase the TILI boxes where you get samples and know what you're receiving. I won't use a sample skincare and take the chance it will react with my skin. Most makeup shades included don't work for me. I get plenty of samples in the mail with other orders. Most go in the trash.

@Jordan2 , my weakness is a mystery box! Fortunately I have always gotten more in usable, good product that what i have paid for. But I do one brand...not the type that are a random mix of brands. I have done Tatcha and as a result found some great new products, and Charlotte Tilbury. The products that I have gotten from those two companies are things that are full size and currently selling on their sites. I don't always use everything but to determine if I keep it I add up the cost of the things I will use and if it is more than what I paid it is a winner. My latest was a CT mystery box. Adding up the product was over 2x what I paiid for it. Would I do it for some brand I am not familiar with? Absolutely not

Not typically. Philosophy just offered one for 75. They revealed what was in it, glad I didn’t spend that $75. I think they said the value was $100. But I did jump on the Beauty with Benefits bag this year. It was one of my few beauty purchases this year. Working down through my huge stash.

Sometimes. I have bought the TILI boxes because I could see what is in them. Some of them are a much better deals than others. Unfortunately the last one I purchased had a skincare item in it that expired in only a couple of months and I didn't realize that until after the expiration date. There have been a number of complaints about expired products in these TILI boxes.

I used to subscribe to Ipsy but quit because the items were never anything I would use and they were super cheap products. Most of the stuff got tossed and the bags included were definitely throw away.

I have gotten 2 of the Fab Fit Fun boxes and those were fantastic. Those aren't just beauty though, they include home and lifestyle products.

A couple of months ago I subscribed to Boxy Charm and so far I have been very happy. I will get my third box this month. It's been a nice mix of skincare and make-up items and out of the 2 boxes I've received, there has been only 1 product I won't personally use. There have been products in the boxes I never would have purchased and some of them are very spendy. I suspect the further I get into the subscription, I will end up with a lot of the same types of products and will get over loaded and have to cancel. We'll see.

I like to get samples of products, especially skincare, because that way I can try it out without investing a lot of money into a full size product that may or may not work.

I just received my Beautyfix box for the month (Dermstore). I also get Birchbox.

I canceled Ipsy after a long waiting period to just get on the list but lots of repeats and I never received anything worth purchasing again.

In my Beautyfix box is a full sized Christophe Robin cleansing volumizing paste (hair),

4 nights of Dream transdermal melatonin patches. I'll end up wrestling my husband for those! lol By Terry rose lip balm, Miriam Quevido white caviar hair masque, Tula facial cleanser, Skin Medica dermal repair cream and Juice Beauty cleansing mask.

I enjoy getting them and trying different things,
