Bangs or no bangs?

I had layered bangs for many years.I finally let them completely grow out. Now I have one-length hair (fine and thinner than it used to be, but ok)---and I am tempted to get bangs again. I have a hair appointment next Saturday and I think I am just going to for a shorter bob. Now, it is collar bone length and I may go just below chin length. Do you like bangs? If you have a bob, what length works for you?

When I was younger I had bangs. I loved them! But then my hair started to get thin on top and along my hairline. That made my bangs look awful so I had to grow them out. If I still had the hair of my youth then I would still have bangs. I just like the way they look on me...but sadly I can't have them any more.

For me, bangs all the way! I've had them my entire life. I have grown them out a time or two, but the no bang look just does not look good on me. My bangs frame my face, so I stick with them.

Never had a bob but make youself happy with a bob and bangs.

I just realized this morning that my bangs had grown out so I grabbed a pair of scissors and now I have bangs again.

Bangs. Definitely.

I have always wanted to wear bangs, but cannot as I have a cow lick right above the inner corner of my right eye. I fought it for years until I finally decided to work with it. I part my shoulder length hair there and it kind of gives me a "lift" in that area. That is a good thing as my hair is straight as a stick! And tends to be flat.

@Goldengate8361 I have a bob that's between chin and collar bone length. I recently added a fringe of side swept bangs. I can wear them covering my forehead just a bit ...or if I don't want the look of bangs just sweep them all the way over. They ususally stay in place with some spray.

I feel that having them softens the overall style for my face.

Can't remember a time when I didn't have bangs. I'm currently growing out a shag haircut. I got sick of the layers and want it all one length. It's almost there after about 5 months.

I have bangs and I have had them for over 30 yrs.

I have thick hair so it lightens the hair load. I have not had my hair cut since all this began. I have trimmed it myself.

I personally like bangs.

@Goldengate8361 Now that my hair is mid-neck length, I let my bangs grow out, too, but kept about 1" wide side pieces layered a little shorter than the rest of my hair. It adds softness especially when I wear it up or back.

Bangs are tough with curly or wavy hair. If your hair or skin tends to be oily, your bangs will need to be washed more often than the rest of your hair, that and deciding if you want frequent trims or will be doing it yourself.

@Goldengate8361 I cut my own hair so it's not quite the same all the time.
It's shorter in the Summer, more layered as are the bangs. It's been warmer lately so it's shorter than a bob, off my neck. It's longer until it flips up chin length is good!
I like layered bangs that aren't too long. Being in my eyes is annoying! If I didn't have bangs my hair naturally parts on the left and it would fall in my face unless a clip (or barrette like kids use).
I don't have a high forehead so like bangs just above my brows when cut, layered toward the right side and they fall in place when I shake my head.

Regarding bangs: I attended a Mary Travers concert many years ago (from the Peter, Paul, and Mary group). She always had longish blonde hair with bangs. She said that the older she got, the longer she let her bangs grow because they hid so many “sins”. I’ve always loved that quote! As for me, my lifelong bangs have not gotten shorter!

I love bangs on the right face shape. I've had them off and on during my adult life but realized that my forehead is a little too short and my face is a little too long for them. For my face shape, a long, sideswept bang looks better. If you can rock them, I say go for it! A long bang is gorgeous if you can pull it off (and it definitely hides forehead wrinkles which is a plus).

I am not a fan of bangs as I have a small face and they can be overwhelming on me. I wear my hair a lot like this photo. I like the fullness and the style works for me. Kind of a compromise between short and long hair.

No bans. I only had them a couple of times in my life. I like hair off my face. Bangs don't go good with my eyebrows and they need to be trimmed too much. My hair is thin so it doesn't look right anyway. The only bangs I would try would be angled from a side part.

I've pretty much had bangs my whole life and I think I look much better with them. I think they accentuate the eyes. And also when I started getting a few lines on my forehead, they covered them up! I haven't had my hair cut for 9 months because of the virus and so my bangs are now past my nose and I'm pinning them to the side. I always wore my bangs pretty full, but now I'm thinking that if I ever make it to the salon again, I will ask them for more wispy ones. What about trying that? Ones that are not so full?? Of course when you go for your appointment you can get your hair styled without them and then if you don't think you like this after a bit, you can always go back later and get bangs!

I love bangs. I grow them out but always go back to them. I think most people look good with bangs if they are the right length. My hair is usually in a layered bob. The length of my hair varies but it's usually to the collar bone or shoulder length.
