Do this many people really wear bright red lipstick?

I'm a lover of the Sephora Give Me Some Lip beauty sample kits. This season's offering shows a majority of bright red lipsticks, many more than previously included. Am I missing something? Is Nude dead? Is Matte dead?

LOVE red lipsticks......many shades of red lipsticks. they are my favorite colors to wear along with vibrant pinks.

i do not purchase matte lip colors.

i do always have some nudes, but mostly use them to tone down other colors if i need to....i dont generally wear them on their own.

Wear what you like and look good in, to heck with the "in" color. I dont think matte is a color is it?

I look horrible in red or any dark lipstick colors, they really age me! So I will be passing on those Sephora colors!

I like to see red on others, but it doesn't work with my coloring. Nude doesn't work for me either, I need rose or a darker pink. I guess that's why there are so many lipstick shades.

Seems like I always start seeing red lippies come out this time of year, more than any other time of the year. Maybe a holiday and festive thing to wear.

I go years without wearing make-up. I hate wearing lipstick and only have worn it when I absolutely have to.

That said, I can wear red lipstick quite well...real red.

If you wear a bold lip color , you must have a neutral eye. You can't have bold eyes and lips at the same time.

Red comes in many hues. You have to find a red that works with your skin tone. There are blue reds, coral reds, orange reds, etc. Some colors are cool and some are warm. Anyone can wear red if they choose the correct hue for them.

I've loved and worn red lipsticks (all hues of red) since I was 18 years old, and I am a senior citizen now and still love my reds!! I've toned down from bright red to a more subtle red though. I am very pale, and I feel that lipsticks give my face a little color so that I don't look like I escaped from the funeral home!

This post prompted me to go look and count the number of red shades I currently have in my bathroom, and there are 19 of them currently, mostly half used up!

I've asked my sisters if I look too garish or too ridiculous with being my age and still wearing the reds, and one sweet sister said "we wouldn't recognize you without your red lipstick!" Awwwww

I don't like red lipstick on me, not ever. I live for a nude lip and it dramatically enhances my appearance. Red lips don't work for all, neither does nude. Depends on so many things about how you look.

I can't wear red either. Also, nudes look horrible on me, like the Walking Dead or somehting. I do better in raisin, pinks, and berries. No orange-based shades.

Gwen Stefani seems to like red and wears it (and has been) all the time. I think it looks a bit garish especially when you see her without lipstick before seeing her with it, but if she likes it. Apparently hot Blake likes it. Personally, I think she's prettier without it.

I know very few (like no one) women who wear lipstick, at all, day-to-day. But I also know that I don't live in a fashionable town.

Love matte lipstick. Hate that glossy stuff. Nevermind actual lipgloss. Seems so tacky. In more ways than one.

I saw that too. I don't know anyone, nor have I ever known anyone, who actually wears red lipsticks~or dark lipstick at all. In fact, most women you meet nowadays don't even wear makeup.

I wear makeup everyday COVID or no COVID. I love to paint my face, but I seem to be the only one in my area who does. I can't imagine that the Sephora lip kit will sell well.

I like the look but I can't wear it. I think you need super white teeth to pull it off.

It was a good look for someone like LR when she presented.
