I have a magnification mirror, not sure of the amount of magnification, but I need at least 8x or 10x to do eye makeup. The one I have is just a stand alone, and the mirror itself is about 6" around. With my poor close up vision, its just not really good enough for me to be able to see myself w/my entire face to do my makeup (and I don't do all that much), but I would like to see my face and not just an eye here and an eyebrow there and a cheekbone here.

Does anyone have a makeup mirror that gives them magnification and also enable you to see your entire face when your doing your makeup? If it has lighting, that's even better. Also I usually have to stand to do my makeup, my bathroom countertops are solid cabinets on the bottom, and no room for a chair to be comfortable. What does everyone else do? All comments welcome. Thanks.

It's really hard to find a great mirror to put make-up on with. I've looked & looked & looked. Have been tempted by Simple Human mirror, saw it at Nordstrom. But I don't want a lighted mirror & it doesn't fold up. It was tempting when they finally included a magnification mirror you could use. I put my make-up on in natural light so light is not needed. Costly as well.

Sure Amazon has all kinds of mirrors but none fit my requirement: no lights, don't want to hang one on a wall. Needs to be folded up so I can put it away without having to look at it all day. Want one that I don't have to hold up with my hands, needs a stand. Want 10x magnification & a good quality mirror that doesn't blur or make you look like someone in a "fun house"mirror. Very hard to find. Esp. if you don't want to spend $100.00 or more.

Good luck!

I've gone thru a few mirrors trying to find one that I could see to do my eye makeup without my contacs or glasses. What a search. First, decide on the budget. Prices are all over the place. Here are the ones that I have tried and liked: Floxide fold & flip 10x mirror, Conair w/ led lighting (flips from regular to 5xmag. and Blushy (has all the various types of mag). This was over the last 5years or so.

My review: the Floxide fold & flip was fine but wasn't the best for the eye makeup. Remember I wear glasses so it may just be my vision problem. This was the most budget friendly. QVC purchase

Conair--works great and doesn't take up a lot of space. I found that it depends on where you place this to receive the max light you need for eye makeup. . BBB purchase

Blushy mirror--The best!! The lighting is fantastic no matter where you have it located. It has multiple mirrors with a variety of magnafications. It looks nice and the sides fold in. It does take up more room but not overly large. A bit pricy I can see to do my eye makeup without any straing. QVC purchase.

Hope some of this is useful for you.

I wear glasses and what I discovered is that 5x magnification works best for makeup application. The higher magnifying mirrors have smaller fields of view, your features are distorted, and you can't see your whole face. Of course, your eyesight may require the greater magnification, but if you have a chance to try 5x, I would.

I wish I had a brand I could recommend, but I am on the hunt also. I have a tabletop Magic Focus mirror with 5x magnification that is great. It is slightly damaged (when I forgot my carryon bag was still sitting in the driveway and backed over it!), which is the only reason I am looking for one. Still, it is usable, not cracked or broken, just has a spot on the outer edge, so I'm not desperate yet. The company was based in Oklahoma, I think, or Kansas, and went out of business. I have looked everywhere and there is no tabletop to be found. There might be compact sizes.

The one that I have I bought at Costco many years ago. It was around holiday time, and I think that they still sell it. It's corded and lights up. 1x mag on one side and 10x mag on the flip side. The mirror swivels. Price was quite reasonable, as I remember. If you shop at Costco, you may want to take a look at the one that they sell there to determine if it meets your needs.

I think that it's a x10 magnification.

It's also lighted, but it doesn't light up automatically. You have to push a little button on the bottom of the front of it, to get it to light up.

You don't see your whole face in it all at once.

However, I do think that it's great for checking your teeth, brows, lips, and for seeing enough of your face when you turn your head at angles to check your face and when you're using it for make-up or for using it for skin care/cleansing, etc.

Hi Fressa,

I have a question on the Blushly mirror. I have V37183 Blushly LED Vanity Mirror w/ Multi Magnification and Storage. Is that the one you have? It seems like when using batteries, the dimmer doesn't work and the lights aren't as bright as when plugged in. I put brand new out of the package batteries in and only used it a couple times and it's already dim. Did you have that happen? I wanted it for the batteries...don't like having an electrical cord winding around my bathroom sink. Haven't seen anyone comment on this issue. Thanks!
