BACK IN BUSINESS (DECEMBER APPOINTMENTS SCHEDULED)

It seems brides are optimistic that the New Year will be possible to plan their weddings. Dresses are being ordered, venues reserved and makeup/hairstylists booked.

I've only taken a few "first try out" makeup appts. for mid-December with the understanding, on both sides, that cancellation may be necessary if the pandemic situation isn't greatly improved.

Of course, between now and December I was planning to replace any items (mostly creams/liquids) that may have gone bad.

So, we'll just have to see. Hopefully a vaccine will be out and we will ALL be well and safe enough to resume some of our usual activities.

I'm waiting until sometime next year before I go back to the hair salon, which means that it'll be over one year since I would have had my last hair cut.

Fortunately for me, I like having long hair and wearing it in a ponytail.

@Shanus I so hope your brides and you are right, and I do think there are some geographic areas that will be safe enough to plan events.

The weddings in my family that were postponed aren't scheduled until much beyond that, but attending them will require many hours on a plane and a few days of hotel stays. No way would I be considering them if they'd chosen December.

I'm hoping we'll know a whole lot more as more and more schools of all levels re-open and we see what the spread, if much at all, is.

My friend just attended the wedding of her friend that has been rescheduled five times. They had it outdoors and the reception is still on hold. She said she wanted to finally wear her $1500.00 gown.

I'm with you. This is going to be a brutal winter with covid19 and the flu. I am just hoping some of the things we have learned will impact both.

Until we get a vaccine, nothing has changed. That looks like spring until the actual vaccines arrive to be given. Most medical folks say next summer. 😷

I wouldn't plan on going to any indoor event of any size as soon as December.

I just saw that a Covid outbreak of 32 people was linked to a wedding ceremony and reception in Maine and one of the women has died from it.

I've heard from several sources that a resurgence of the CoVi19 is predicted for December after a remission in the fall.

@Shanus How do you do this? Do you use disposable pallettes and make up tools? There would be no way to load up an eyeshadow brush with all the product that you would need to do an eye. You would have to "redip" it into the shadow. I have always wondered how this can be done and maintain sterilization or no cross contamination.

@tends2dogs Great question. Under these extraordinary circumstances, clients will bring their own makeup (what they already have or new shades they'd like to try) & their own brushes/tools. I could sanitize my tools, but still safer if they use theirs.
