After reading all these helpful suggestions, it occurs to me that it totally depends on the type of hair you have! Curl pattern, texture, porosity, there are a lot of factors, ... What is successful for some clearly doesn't work for all - I will try some of these also ! Thanks to all!

Hi ladies, I am looking for your tips on maintaining a decent hair style in humid weather! I'm happy with my Paul Mitchell products, but am attending an outdoor wedding on July 5th.... and I know it will be a humid day with my luck! I'd like to wear my hair down, but may have to put it in a casual updo. My hair is thin and a bit wavy, and I usually pull it back when it's too humid. Any suggestions for hairspray or finishing cream? Thanks in advance!

There are lots of products to prevent frizz. Unfortunately I have forgotten most of them because I went with my natural curl a few years ago. My only problem with those products and a flat iron was I like a little curl on the ends and I felt like I could not have both. The anti frizz products once I blow dried my hair and smoothed the top out with a flat iron made the curls I tried to add to the ends fall out. So I would suggest looking for anti frizz and smooth words in the products and a flat iron. I live in a very humid climate btw so I know what you're dealing with.

Try Aveda smooth infusion™ style-prep smoother - , I copied it to insure I gave you the right name, i have used this for YEARS, don't let the name fool you, I curl my hair so it's not "smooth" and it helps keep my curls all day even with humidity. I also use the Aveda anti humidity hairspray after I finish styling

What works best for me, don't like a lot of product buildup, is a plain old dryer sheet. Rub it through you hair or press it through the bristles of a rubber bristled brush and then brush through before/after styling.

For any of these suggestions, I'd do a practice session & not wait until the day OF. No humidity? Turn the shower on hot and stand around there a few minutes to see what works for your hair.

Frizzies or not, have a great time.

I have 2 products that work great for me. I have fine hair but since I have moved to fl. its so humid most of the year & if outdoors becomes a frizz poof! " Amika the Shield its an anti-humiidity spray & a heat protectant". You use it on damp hair before blow drying. I also have Living Proof No Frizz Instant De Frizzor on dry hair, spray & then smooth it our with your hands. You need very little of the one. I use that more often these day because I have not blow dryed my hair often at all. Both work well for fine & all hair types. I bought mine at Sephora. hth & have a good time.

I have VERY difficult hair. It's type 2C, coarse, wiry, super dry and porous, so it pulls in any hint of humidity. I have tried literally everything including WOW dream coat, Living Proof and 50 other products sitting in my cabinet.
The only thing that works for me ( other than a $200 salon keratin treatment, which does work)., Is : I completely wet it, dripping, finger comb out any snarls, I use a small amount of moisturizing leave in (Kevin Murphy), then the hold comes from a strong gel- I like LA Looks, sport gel, but any strong gel should hold back humidity. Apply evenly, amount depends on length, mine is shoulder and I use a dime size, Scrunch it in, and DON'T TOUCH your hair all day! This is the only thing that holds my hair against humidity. The gel doesn't make it crunchy, the texture is ok. Good luck- HTH!

I love Aveda's Anti Humectant creme, a tiny bit works to keep your hair from frizzing and keeps it shiny as well.

Living Proof makes a product called Restore Smooth Blowout Concentrate that works really well for my thick, coarse, wavy hair. Don't be fooled by the small size. It only requires a very small amount and does a very nice job of keeping the hair tamed. Tweakd also something called Chiuri Butter Limitless Super Cream Styler. This is made of very natural ingredients and also works great. However for super thick hair I think the Living Proof does a better job of giving a sleek look.
