I wore gel nails off and on for a couple of years but hated the expense and the upkeep. When I finally decided to take them off for good, I started using TLC by Esse. I keep my nails short and I found that this product strengthened them and stopped the peeling that I had had before. I really like it and it is readily available and I can do it myself.

I've got about a week left on these nails before I have to soak them off and do something. I have dips, so my underlying nail doesn't look awful, but it sure is weak. Will file them nice and short, but advice for strengthening program? Any recommendations for a product? Need to get something coming.

My nails were ruined from bad gel nail job.Beds of my nails were ruined. Each nail became deep rippled, one came loose and for 3 months I tried everything by clipping nail to quick. It is over a year later and the nail bed to 3/4 of the way up, looks good again almost .....got bad manails grown out. I used two things after trying about 10 products.

daily use of Bee Naturals Best Cuticle oil. It isn't cheap. The other product I used at least once a week, if not more was Nailtiques Nail Protien formula. The later should be removed every few days and reapplied. It adds nice clear shine and did help. Both products I bought on amazon. Good luck. I will get gel nails once for granddaughters wedding in November. But I never ever will get them again. I don't care who applies them. I had one crummy, lousy nail tech the other one was excellent. One of her employees did my nails when she was gone and was the culprit. Nothing was the same after that

Thanks! I has seen the Perfect Nails kit, but not this. It might be a good one to try. I almost feel like I need some kind of armor, LOL.

Seriously don't feel like I'm new to the boards because I'm such a lurker 😊 I just knew you ladies would have some advice!

I had a bottle of the nailtiques in my hands today then decided to do a little more research. I absolutely hate gels. Destroys my nails getting them off. Even the nail techs are surprised how bad it is. I've really liked the dip.

I took my nails off in June after 20 years. It's a long long process . I used Duracoat religiously. Followed instructions exactly I tried other products. They didn't work for me. Good Luck. It takes persistence.

(I'd purchased them last year when they were a GMA Deal) It took less than 10 minutes and they look great. They feel like my natural nails.

I got rid of my acrylics and then switched to gel. Still, too high maintenance, so I went with natural nails.

I have had really good luck with Nailtiques and Rejuvacoat. Read the reviews on Amazon before you decide. Right now I am using Rejuvacoat.

You have to use it daily, or every other day, or it won't work very well.

I also recommend Duri Rejuvacote, but use Formula #2, it is much more gentle for damaged nails and much more natural in its ingredients.

TIPS is the only product that keeps my nails from peeling and breaking. I've been using it for over 10 years and when I slack off I get in trouble. I did have a problem with one nail splitting right down the middle. It was caused by ridged nails. I got some Sally Hansen ridge filler and have kept that nail covered with a few coats during the entire growing out process. Since I seem to be allergic to all nail polish, I've had a pale white finger for months and months. But it was worth it. TIPS is expensive but you won't use it nearly as fast as you would think.
