I get great deals with my IT cosmetics, but honestly I can't keep up with all the new products and gadgets they have listed in the beauty section.

@KACEE1115 I personally don't feel the need to "keep up". If you're using what works for you, that's great. You're right. New and better beauty is thrown at us every day. We have to be cautious and informed. A lot of the offerings are not better than what we use. You can go crazy thinking everything new available is a "must try" because it's better and will turn back the clock.

@Shanus when I said can't keep up meaning just watching what's on, I am tried and true with Dr. Denese for many years. It's just amazing how many products are out there.

American culture is obsessed with looking young and beautiful. The outside must be young-looking. So we have product after product that promises us to get rid of those ugly age lines! Get rid of those ugly brown spots! Get rid of those dark circles! Get rid of those thin eyebrows! Get rid of that gray hair! Look young, young, young! Otherwise you are not a worthwhile person. Mother nature says otherwise, but the cosmetics industry gets the attention and dollars. QVC knows how to capitalize on this mind-set.

@maximillian It's human nature to want to look our best. The cosmetics industry counts on that. Makeup can make us feel like we look better and some skincare is effective. Most of it is snake oil, IMO.

The beauty industry counts on buyers to give into the lure of the "new and improved" - and millions and millions of dollars get spent because so many people do just that.

I suspect most of the time, we'd get nearly the same results by buying carefully the first time and actually using up what we paid for before moving onto the next new and different. Sad to say, fantasy is very often more powerful than reason and reality.

Apparently, it's not just American culture since so much of the new stuff is coming from Asia, more specifically South Korea I think. Not just manufactured there.

I am among the obsesssed with keeping the effects of aging at it's slowest pace possible. I will say this: I was recently on a cruise and had two people tell me how young I looked in the context of a converstaion about aging and various apects of it. One said I was too young to have gray hair and the other looked at me like I was lying when I said my age (48) and said I looked way younger. I don't think I would receive these comments had I not been paying meticulous attention to my skin and body and hair over the years. So I think it's worth it to put in the effort but don't do like I do and get fully obsessed because it's cost me a lot of money!!!!

@Grouchomarx 48 isn't old at all. I would hope that you didn't have wrinkles and lines at your age. Are you saying that you look in your 20's? I could see where that would be surprising to others when they hear your age.

@Shanus I have to agree. I have to laugh at the B & A pics for any products. The before has the person slightly smile. That right there is going to cause more lines around the eyes and mouth. You can tell the person is smiling because there is just a different look in the eye - like a sparkle......am I sounding like I've lost it? Anyway, the after shots there is no smile, no sparkle.

I am of the mind set that if what I am currently using is working and I am happy with it, I quit looking at the man behind the curtain. If I feel I want a boost or a change, I do a little checking or research and try something. The B & A pics aren't a big selling point for me. Either is seeing a model rubbing a treatment product on her face or the vendor pushing on her cheeks to show firmness......especially if the woman is in her 30's. Show me the consistancy, the ingredients, the return window LOL and I am good.

I WiSH I looked to be in my twenties! But I think I can pass for at least 10 years younger. I do not have much in the way of wrinkles, mainly only a few forehead lines that if I want to, I can eradicate with some botox. Anything from the eyebrows down is in very good shape.

Everywhere you live it like this pretty much.....Isn't S.Korea the mega star of beauty these days?? There are so many products out there it's dizzing LOL! I don't mind that Q has beauty TSV's or any in store brands and so on....I have sensitive skin/rosacea so most all of it simply doesn't work for me...kinda feel left out!

Me again. I started using Dr. Denese more than 10 years ago or even more, at one point I thought well maybe I need to try a different product, and started using hope in a jar. I was startled one day to notice a picture taken of me and I look back and compared it a picture to when I was using the Dr. Denese , oh my goodness I was so surprised to see the difference that way, I immediately went back to my dr Denise and have never changed since, not that I look 10 years younger etc. but my skin is so much nicer and firmer when I am using her products. Once you find something that works for you ,pretty good reason to stick with it.

DITTO. I'm 53 and although I don't expect to look 35, I do believe that because I have been using anti-agin skin care products since the age of 19, I have aged much more gracefully than I would have if I wasn't so meticulous about it. I enjoy using good skin & hair care products.

LOL I've always wondered if anyone else noticed that!! I've always known they are just tweaking their face/smile---it's crazy to me that anyone would actually "believe" these anyways! I guess it's just another selling tactic that must work or they'd stop using them! Pretty sad.

People are obsessed with looking young -- companies know this so they keep making new and improved products because people will buy them. For some, the price doesn't matter if the word "anti-aging" is in the advertising.

I was looking forward to the IT TSV until I saw it's for oily skin. Might have been a good idea for IT to give us a choice for oily or normal skin.
