I have used Serious Skin Care and SCA glyconic cleansers, now I'm lookig for a good drug store brand.

My dermatologist had me using Aqua Glycolic cleanser by asking for it at the pharmacy. Apparently, Mederma bought that because the same bottle had a name change. I get Mederma Glycolic from amazon.

It is gentle. I have little to no sun damage and have had cystic acne.

Neutrogena makes one called Pore Refining Exfoliating Cleanser that has both glycolic and salicylic in it.

@Mary Bailey Way back before people even know about it I saw Josie Biset from Melrose place on Regis and Kathy Lee.

Regis said out loud, ( paraphrasing) “My god...you have the most beautiful skin I’ve ever seen...I heard her say in a low voice, “ I use glycolic lotion..”.

I couldn’t find it anywhere. I used to take a lot of vitamins from a store that only sells vitamins. I asked the worker there about it. She took me to a shelf that had it there.

From then I used it. That was a long time ago. I’m now 73 years old and I don’t have brown marks or wrinkles. I stay out of the sun and wash my face with a microfiber cloth 2 times a day with just warm water. Every 2 or 3 days I wash with Philosophy sea salt, it’s an exfoliate. I’m all about getting rid of dead skin from my face every day...get off that dead skin!

I have used Dr Denese products since the first day she was on. I send them to my daughter in Denver. The sun in Denver is a killer, she swears by Dr Denese too.

I understand it’s expensive and I am sure there are other good product that work almost as well, that are way cheaper.

My daughter ( older one, 46) has amazing skin and she has always used Oil Of Olay, but she washes same as me.

I’ve been rattling on and on... but I’d say always wash 2 times a day with those thing QVC sells where you get like 20 for $20 as long as microfiber cloths.

Make sure the glycolic stuff you buy has a lot of it in there. Most you get in stores doesn’t (wasted money).

Thats why I use Dr Denese firming facial pads...they are only mainly glycolic acid.

So the thing about Dr Denese’s Hydroshield is absorbed into the skin, most others aren’t, they just dry on your face.

If you can’t find glycolic acid in stores go to a health food store and see if it’s still sold there.

I’m sorry to be so bla bla But you are so sweet in your posts, I just wanted to say what works for me and my girls.

Some is heredity but I’m a firm believer in “get that dead skin off of the face”.

The rest of my body has gone ... well you know...I’m fat.. but I do take care of my skin.

I love that you know you want to take care of your skin and know about glycolic acid...I love that.

Take care sweet girl. If you were near me and my friend, I’d even send you some Dr D so you’d see the difference.

I recommend Alpha Skincare. They were originally branded as Alpha Hydrox, by Neoteric Cosmetics. It is priced at $7.99. I believe they were the original marketers of Alpha Hyrdoxy acid products. There is an interesting story I read somewhere about them and Avon. Any way, they have great products that have been around for 30 years or more.

@Mary Bailey I don't think a person needs to spend a lot of money to have nice skin.

I cringe every time QVC now started selling those face cloths that are the same thing they sell that you get like 20 for but THEY are supposed to be for cleaning.

It's the same material...the same thing, I know because I use the cheap one's on my face!

I have pores the size of Montana.. but for some reason using those facial pads has shrunk them (at least in my mind they have).

I don't have pretty skin. They just don't wrinkle but expression has a lot to do with it too.

People are way too hard on themselves. I've seen beautiful people that have wrinkles around their eyes.

All I think (which means zip) is that they laugh with their eyes. Nothing wrong with that because when they laugh or smile, it's amazing.....

I think I just don't have a lot of expressions...I've looked the same way since I was young...not much different. My sister who died was 13 years older than me and my Dad used to love to take us into his favorite beer joint in the old days and people would guess I was older...That was back in the beginning of the 60's.

My brother is 80 years old and looks like he's around 60. His girlfriend is in her 50's.

Everyone is different. If I have any regrets, it's that I didn't take care of my body and watched my weight.

My daughter said, "You know mom, if you ever loose weight your going to have wrinkles".

I said, "I'll gladly trade off on that one...can I vote on it"...Ha!
