Have you Heard of "Lumene"?????

Since my No 7 tinted moisturizer oxidized on me, I have been in search of a replacement. I purchased Lumene CC cream. It receives high reviews and it is a Finnish cosmetic co. in skincare and makeup. This particular product has medium coverage, and SPF 20 for all skin types, weightless, primes, covers redness and longwear. I also decided to try their day cream because I had a $5 gift card from Target. The products are infused with wild Artic ingredients. If you are familiar or have purchased Lumene products, please share your experience.

Sorry to be so obtuse. I just was calling out to @just bee, who is a huge Lumene fan. She probably won’t be on the forums until at least tomorrow morning, but I’m sure she can give you some insight into the Lumene products. She loves them!

I've not tried Lumene but I watched reviews online and would ike to try it. It looks like you can't purchase Lumene in stores but can order it from Target or Amazon.

@50Mickey Lumene is sold in the store at Target and CVS Pharmacy. It seems that Target carries more of Lumene's products.

It's been years, but it was here on the QVC forums when someone mentioned Lumene BB cream. Like you, @Katcat1 , I had a problem with oxidation. The first product that really worked for me was bareMinerals. I was already close to forty, but it was perfect. The right color and so foolproof. Then I turned fifty.

I had to abandon powder and move to a more liquid foundation. I'd tried several (this was about the time philosophy rolled out their "hybrid") but nothing was really performing as well as bareMinerals.

Then someone mentioned Lumene.

I'd seen it at Walgreens so I went ahead and gave it a try. It was better than what I'd been using and I liked the price. But then I tried the CC cream...

And that's the song @geezerette was referring to. And you couldn't shut me up.

I've tried several Lumene products and I've liked them all. In fact, I had an impressive collection when my house burned and I lost all my beauty products (contamination). I'm paring down so the Lumene products I currently use (and refuse to give up) are the CC cream and the only facial moisturizer I've ever been able to use: Glow Reveal.

Problem: Lumene has been getting more and more difficult to find. CVS and Walgreens once offered several Lumene products with regular sales. Not the case anymore. I searched and found Lumene at Dermstore, then Ulta.

Then poof! Gone.

I had stopped shopping at Target but one day I discovered Lumene on their website. And it was on sale. Not the great prices I'd taken advantage of in the past, but at least someone was carrying it.

I have used the products for several years and I live in fear that they will disappear completely. I've already made arrangements to move to Finland if this happens.

Still singing for now...

@just bee I like the CC cream in the "Light" shade. Great coverage for medium and very nice finish and price. I also ended up purchasing the Day Cream moisturizer with SPF 15 since I received a $5 gift card from Target. Let's hope Target continues to sell Lumene. I have checked the Lumene website but you can only view and not purchase.

@just bee I just realized that I received a $5 gift card when I spent $20 of Lumene. I decided to try a serum and their eye treatment and use the gift card plus I will receive another gift card. Just an FYI in you are interested.

I said I liked Lumene CC cream but I forgot to tell you why.

1. It matches my skin color and doesn't turn me tangerine.

2. Easy application with my fingers.

3. Only need a pea-size blob to get great coverage.

4. Looks natural.

5. Improves my skin -- no breakouts, either.

6. I don't carry cosmetics with me, so my makeup has to work overtime. Stays put long after my 12.5-hour shift.

7. Price has increased to $14.99 a tube but I used to buy it for much less. But that's still under $20. Which is what I paid when I was desperate and found a more expensive tube on Amazon. Worth it. Tube lasts a looooong time.

8. One of the first things I grabbed when my house burned.

9. Since it feels more like skincare than makeup, I wear it every day.

10. No offensive scent.

We always talk about finding the one and only line for ourselves but, of course, that's impossible.

However, if Lumene was here the way it is outside the U.S., I might be tempted to use the line exclusively.

Let me know how the day cream and CC cream work out for you. I've dreaded the thought of replacing the CC cream and Glow Reveal, so I hope we don't have to keep searching for the products.

I just wonder why the line disappeared from so many retailers. Do you think it's because other companies don't want the competition?

How much is a round-trip ticket to Helsinki?

@just bee It's a good thing I purchased the Day Cream SPF 15 because what I was using is discontinued. Anyway, you don't need much at all and what I noticed is it gives a slight radiance to skin. I have never experienced that in a moisturizer. The CC is excellent although I wish it was more in cream form but you still don't need much and it gives excellent medium coverage but it is lightweight like a tinted moisturizer. I know that Target carries some of the line, CVS, Walgreens, EBay and Amazon but I doubt that any of them carry the whole line as they do offer makeup too. When it comes to CC creams or BB creams, all I ask for is a nice finish on the skin and one that lasts. Also, products that are more reasonably priced instead of $45 and up.

I used Lumene and loved their products years ago. One of the foundations was the best I'd ever used. Even my Mother, who had a very discerning and critical eye, was complimentary. She started using it too and I sent more when her local sources discontinued their color cosmetics. I still have an empty bottle.

Eventually, the color cosmetics were dc'd locally. I shopped several stores (cvs) stocking up on was was still available.

The lipsticks were very impressive and another favorite. Great colors, pigmentation, finish and lasted. Loved the eye primer, colored highlighters that could be mixed with foundation. These were very subtle and extremely wearable on their own too. Loved the masks, oil cleanser, eye and lip pencils too. Also the tinted cc. I seem to recall eyeshadow and blush was part of the line also. I was told the company would be no longer manufacturing these colord cosmetic items at that time and was glad to see many of these on their current website. I also used some facial moisturizer and a serum that was red and yellow in the bottle that had to shaken before using. I was sad to see so many items disappearing from the shelves.

I haven't checked to see if and where these color cosmetics are currently offered but should you run across any, I can highly recommend trying based on my previous experience and satisfaction.

@rochelleS I have not checked but I believe that Target only carries skincare products such as serums, moisturizers, masks, etc. Walgreens, CVS, EBay and Amazon also carry Lumene but not sure how many products they carry. I don't remember seeing any of their makeup say 5 or 6 years ago.

Yes, I used their BB cream and really liked it...went to purchase another tube and could not find it... I will look at target. I think it gave a nice light coverage....thanks for the reminder.
