UV Protector for the face

Is anyone here using L'Occitance product for the face and if so, what UV protector do you use? L'Occitance has SPF 20 but I am looking for something stronger like 30 or above.

Andrew Lessman has one for face and body. It is highly rated but I have to say that it does leave a white cast. So I am not necessarily recommending that. Actually what I do is use my moisturizer then I use Josie's SPF 47 but not the tinted version. I use the amount of hers as one should when using any sunscreen. My skin is dry so it can handle the extra hydration.

I use Dr.Denese Day cream and love it. It's a multi tasking product (SPF 30.moisturizer and light coverage bb/cc cream. It feels light on the skin. I wear it alone of sometimes I use Laura Geller's B&B on top of it when I'm having some "issues".

I have been using Elta Clear Broad Spectrum UV 46 for several years. It does not feel like a sunscreen, absorbs quickly, no white cast and feels more like a moisturizer. I use it winter and summer.

@sue311 Dr. Denese's SPF 30 Defense Day Cream which has broad specrum uva/uvb oil free, zinc based. It goes on thick and stays on throughout the day. It has been in her line since her beginning on qvc, is tinted and may have been the first cc cream. I wear this every day under my foundation which is bare minerals and that has sun protection as well.

I am using Andrew Lessman new spf and it doesn't leave a white cast on my skin at all. I mix it with other creams too and no weird pilling on my skin.

Do you think mixing with creams does anything to the SPF? I hear of people doing this and wonder if it "dilutes" the SPF somehow.

Paula's Choice Super-Light Wrinkle Defense SPF 30. It has zinc oxide and a light tint so there's no white cast. I love the texture and it blends really well.

My derm told me to always wear an antioxidant serum, for instance vit C, under my sunscreen to get the most benefit from the SPF.

Sunscreen lotions should never be mixed with other things. They should be applied right on top of skin care products, not mixed in with them. Take for example an SPF 50 sunscreen. Mix half of that with half moisturizer and you think you get a SPF 25?...NO, it does not work that way and you cannot determine what you'll get only that you'll get something less than the original SPF.

I have been using Colorscience Sunforgettable total protection face shield spf 50 and their total eye 3 in 1 renewal therapy spf 35 for eyes. I am really happy with them and have been using in place of foundation and eye concealer I top it of with the sunforgettable spf30 tinted brush on powder . I am 56 but still have oily acne prone skin so spf can be an issue . Colorscience is having a friends and family sale going on now too . Good luck !

Over the past few years I've narrowed my sunscreens down to two exclusives. They are are Neutrogena's Clear Face 55 and Josie Maran's Protect and Perfect. The Neutrogena is a white lotion, but doesn't leave a white cast and is sheer enough to not feel like too much product to layer over skincare and under makeup. Josie's Protect and Perfect amazingly works as described. It goes on in that tinted peachy color, but dries down to your natural skintone. Being a woman of color if a sunscreen leaves my face with that ashy chalky finish I won't use it.

Love Colorscience! They have every sort of physical sunscreen format anyone could want. I've never burned when using their products.

I use their total eye SPF 35 and the brush on spf 50. Along with hourglass primer with SPF 15. Got me nicely covered.

I use this too. Over moisturizer and under primer and foundation. The products go over it smoothly and no pilling. I would buy it again.

I love Andrew's product, but I apply in a different order. I have extremely fair (and old) Scots-Irish skin and had been relying on SPF in my foundations. Bad girl. I apply my serum first, wait a couple of minutes and apply moisturizer, patting both gently into the skin. I give it a minute or two, then pat a dime-sized squirting of Sole between my hands, again gently, press them together and pat all over my face, pressing it in. No white residue, and I feel I am getting the maximum sun protection with the sunscreen as the top layer at full strength. I am out in the California sunshine midday five days a week, walking, and have had no redness or dark spots. I use it on my hands and chest/neck, too.

I am happy to not be slathering chemical sunscreen on my face and body. Highly recommend Andrew's product. A little goes a very long way, so it may seem like a big investment (compared to a $9 tube of chemicals at the drugstore), but even the smaller tube will last for many months. I have read the comments, and the tube I purchased has NO odor whatsoever.

I am 68 and still have oily skin especially in the humid summer. I bought the colorscience brush on spf powder and find it hard to tell if it came out on my face. I got a sample of the spf for body and love that and now I may get the one for the face since you have the same type of skin I do.

Hi same thing happened to me . I thought the powder wasn't going on but I wiped with a cotton pad too check and it was there .. I really like the brand and its been working with my acne prone skin .My skin can breakout and pores get clogged too from heavy products . They are having a friends and family sale going on I think it ends today or tomorrow !
