OK, so I spring for this as UD is supposed to have the top shadows on the market. After I did my foundation and had some on my lids I take my brand new palette and swipe the 3rd color from the left. A pinky light beige. Whaaaat??? Where's the pigment? I expected it to have a lot more pigment than it did and really lighten my lids. Instead it was not any better than any drugstore light shade. To be honest my $2 Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells palette has a lot more pigment than this does and livens up my eyes. So I try the Naked shade. It looked deeper on my hand in the store and it didn't work over the lighter color in the crease. Looked grayish, blah as a crease color, so I go for the shade next to it and that was better on the crease but didn't look like anything special. I try to liven things up by adding some of the deepest color in the outer V and the lightest color as a highlight in the inner corner and inner part of the top lid. It was better but to be honest my eyes look a lot better with some shimmer.

They say you're supposed to go matte as you get older, but this left my eyes dead looking and muddy, and it didn't hide any crepiness. I think the best combo is a little shimmer on the lid and a matte in the crease. I think some shimmer applied in the right place can help diffuse any crepiness and adds light and brightness to the eyes. The UD mattes looks great on perfect, smooth 20 year old lids with no shadows anywhere and an even light color. I tried going matte and I'm going back to my Bobbi Brown and Wet n Wild shimmers. That's a heck of a price disparity but those WnW shadows are really nice and well pigmented if you're not too much of a snob to use them. Their new spring 8 pan WnW palette has 8 semi, less shimmery gorgeous colors and is all of $4.99!

As an aside, BB's Bone shimmer and mattes have a lot more pigment than the UD ones. The ones I have are in the older round case, so I'm not sure if the new ones are as good.

Anyway, I tried them and don't have to wonder about them any more. I also tried 2 of the BM Ready palettes and wasn't impressed with those either.
