My skin seems to react well to many oils. The early days of my skincare featured the use of facial oils and oil cleanser, but like many others during the period from the late 80s through the 90s I got caught up in oil-free was better. In fact it becamse rather difficult to find facial oils during that span. Jump ahead to the late 90s and I discovered DHC, and a now defunct line from L'Occitane (Olive Harvest). Using those products my mirror and compliments from others convinced me that my skin was less oily, felt more hydrated, clearer (fewer breakouts), looked more even-toned, and smoother when I included oil in my skincare regimen. Since that time as we know oils have exploded in the skincare market at all price levels. Josie Maran's Argan line features some products which are favorites of mine, but I'm hardly exclusive. I still use a few things from DHC because my skin loves olive oil and from time to time I've bought oils from other brands including Tatcha and Shea Terra. I tried Tarte's Maracuja Oil when it came out and it was nice, but since I pay little attention to Tarte their products don't pop into my mind when I'm shopping.

That one, though, you cannot pick up in a regular store. I have raspberry seed on hand now, which I use as part of a mix of other oils for facial massage. Raspberry seed oil is a natural sunscreen.

Presently, I use a drop of rose hip seed oil w/ my moisturizer.

I've never tried the maracuja, but thought by its description that I would like that also.

I am using an oil on my face right now but it's not your usual kind of oil. Some of you might know that I make my own vitamin C serum...I've been making it for many years with different formulations. My latest, and I think my best one ever, is one which contains the oil form of vitamin C called tetrahexyldecyl ascorbic acid (THD ascorbate). Extremely stable, doesn't irritate the skin and absorbs better than its powder sister, ascorbic acid. Effective percentages of only 1% have shown to treat the skin for signs of aging like lack of firmness and uneven tone. At 10% it has been shown to remove brown spots in as little as 4 weeks time. My formulation is 7%, just enough to keep my skin even toned and firm. THD ascorbate is the new buzz word in the vitamin C serum world of skin care.

Since menopause, my skin has gotten drier, no doubt about that. I started taking a phytoceramides supp and that has helped me tremendously. It helps me keep moisture from leaving my skin. Before that whenever I would take off my clothes at night, you could see dry skin flakes flying everywhere and my feet were so dry and cracked. Now I'm relieved with the phytoceramides supp. For me that's been life-changing. @goldensrbest

Tarte sells it here on the Q. Lots of good reviews for it. I used it a long time ago I thought it was better than argan oil for me. I'm not using any oils right now.

I take that back.

I tried a Peter Thomas Roth serum with the THD ascorbate and I found it too strong for me. My face has issues with vitamin c. Which is annoying!
