Look what all the extra movement has done for our necks. 😜

Jack Lalaine had a facial exercise routine and he actually looked really good.I think if you build up facial muscle it could take up some of the slack in jowls.

I used to do those facial exercises until I watched myself in the mirror and realized the movements were actually creating more wrinkles.

I remember the Q used to push the Facial Flex. It actually gave me terrible headaches. I don't believe exercise helps jowls....plastic surgery does.

You can't exercise facial muscles like you do body muscles. Facial muscles are anatomically very different from any other kind we have. Facial muscles do not tighten when you 'exercise' them. All you're doing is causing the skin to crease and stretch...not good.

For people who are hesitant to try facial exercise, why not just get the Nuface or one of those microcurrent devices? They gently firm up your facial muscles. If you're going to buy something, I say get a gadget with a proven track record. Angie from Hot and Flashy swears by her Nuface unit. You can see that she really has gotten results from it.

I do one facial exercise that does improve my jowly area, but it isn't a jaw exercise. It's one that strengthens my upper cheek area, drawing everything up. I do have a new horizontal indent on either side, and just under, my nose, but I really think they look good. At first my crowsfeet got worse, but now they're hardly there at all and only when I smile.

To firm your jaw muscles a little, just chew gum when you get a chance. If you choose xylitol gum, you're helping your teeth and gumline at the same time.

You can look as blank as possible and try to have no wrinkles that way, but I tend to think it can still end up looking saggy. And whatever your habitual expressions are will show the strongest. I'd rather look smiley and firm, with a cutely placed expression wrinkle here and there.

I'm living proof that facial exercises DO work. But you just can't do jowls; you have to do the entire face, which should take you approximately 15-20 min a day.

If you do facial exercises properly, you will NOT get wrinkles. Search on YouTube (her name is Peta). She's british and she looks amazing. Follow her and do the exercises correctly and you will get awesome results.

I know a RN who is always searching for the fountain of youth and started a whole facial exercise program 3 years and 5 months ago. She took photos throughout her journey.

Just last week she showed us the photos- if anything she looks worse. More wrinkles and sagging, no change in jowls. Not terrible, if she would not have shown me the photos I would have said no change. I had high hopes for her thinking it may just work!!

NOTE: she is a fair skinned lady with thin skin.

I am going to suggest the Nuface mentioned here. I will be curious to see her results.
