Isomer - Revive Shampoo / Conditioner

I am going to take a break from WEN for about 3 months, I've had unexplained thinning in my widows peak, ALL BLOOD work is perfect even iron and ferritin levels, I just want to eliminate it for a few months and see if I have less thinning or even some fill back it, I LOVE WEN but I just need to do it to maybe prove to myself that it is or isn't part of the culprit.

So, I was looking at Isomers, anyone use these? Have feedback, yay or nay.

My hair is to my bra line, likes to tangle easy BUT I stil need something that helps add body and not weigh it down the way some can do. Would love to try something new that would add in some body

I am open to suggestions!

Please read the ingredient deck for both shampoo and conditioner. I like Isomers skincare but not their hair care line. Everyone’s hair is different though.

@SilleeMee may have some great suggestions for you.

@SandGirl Interesting! That's where I've been thinning - widow's peak. I recently stopped using Wen because of the thinning. I don't have a recommendation for a shampoo and I still use Wen as a conditioner, but I don't go near the scalp with it - just from the middle of the hair to the ends.

Thinning hair can be caused from so many things and there is no single remedy to stop it completely. Maintaining a clean scalp is very important. Sometimes when we remove makeup and skincare products from the face there can be some residual amounts left behind along the hairline and if you don't shampoo everyday then there can be build-up right there which might cause thinning hair at the hairline. I'm not saying this will happen to everyone, but I think it's important to clean the hairline well each day to decrease buildup of things you put on the face. Clogged pores on the scalp can be just a problem as it is on any other part of your face or body. Hairlines are often overlooked. If your hair is thinning all over then that might be a totally different problem or problems.

@spent2much That is EXACTLY what I have been doing for now but just thought I would try to stop it all together.

I LOVE WEN so I am not bashing it but I've been using it a few years and those are the years I've seen the thinning but I'm also moving closer to my 50's so I'm blaming it on that too. My parents and my brother have FULL THICK heads of hair, my dad is 73 and doesn't even have one thinning spot, unusual for a man.

@SilleeMee I was DAILY, I work FT so if I leave the house, I am a girl of the 80's and I shower every morning even if that means getting up at 4am. I use a clarifying shampoo every 7-8 days on my scalp and use oils on my scalp at least 3 nights a week, I really take care to care for my scalp

Crown area has thinning out quite a bit too, I never used to be able to see my part back there and now I have to work to cover it...

I've dealt with thinning hair most of my life. Went bald for no reason but it grew back. I'm 63 now and have been using hair lasers for many years. For me they have been the only thing that has worked. I tried medical treatments, numerous topicals, shampoos, conditioners, dietary supps...most of it did very little if nothing to make lost hair grow back. Only the lasers did that.

@SilleeMee I have actually been looking into those, figured why not get a jump on it before it gets worse?? Didn't want to shell out the money but if I can get it on easy pay I think I may do that. Which one do you like and feel is easy to use and effective?

The first one I bought was the very first HairMax-9 comb the Q sold years ago. Then I bought that helmet thing, i-Grow. I used both at the same time...the i-Grow did the top of my head and the comb did the sides and back areas. That worked out really well for me. I got a lot of regrowth. Then I decided to go all out and get a CapillusPro cap. That is the best but it's extremely expensive. I use the Capillus now instead of the iGrow and I also still use the HM-9 comb to do my sides and back areas. The thing about these hair lasers is that the more lights they have, the better. More lights mean more coverage with having to use them in less time. So to answer your question, buy the one you can afford. The more lights it has means the thing will cost you more as well. So just buy the biggest one you can afford and don't give up using it too soon.

One thing I have to say here and I don't want to scare you, but the longer you let your hair loss continue then you are closing the opportunity to regain it back by waiting to take action with a laser device. The sooner your start, the chances are better that your hair will regrow. If you wait then the hair follicles will die off forever, never to grow hair again. I know, sad but it's the truth.

Thank you for all the great education. I know I want to get a jump on it while I still have some hair in that area, it's still there but the density of it is like 50% of what it used to be and I can fully see my scalp on my sides, always wear my hair down to help cover it.

I think I will check with Nordstrom they are really good about returns and I for sure won't give up on it, I know it takes time even years to see a huge diff. I really appreciate you taking time to help me. I hope you have a blessed evening.

I stopped using Wen because I had hair loss in spots all over. Friends told me people were loosing hair.

It’s been over a year and there are still a few spots.

I use Clear hair & scalp shampoo and conditioner among other shampoos.

I hated to throw gallons of Wen out, dog shampoo also.

Fortunately I cut my own hair so can cover areas.

@SandGirl I've never used Wen, but have had fine, thin hair my entire life. I tried both the Skinn and Isomers hair products and wasn't really impressed with either one. I do like the Beekman shampoo and conditioner. I alternate it with Therappe and Humectress. I also add a couple of drops of Isomers Copper P to my scalp every morning.

My hair has more fullness and volume than it ever did. I'm about 20% grey now, so I'm sure the thicker texture of the new grey hairs is also helping.

I just threw out my Isomers Revive shampoo and conditioner.

It dried my hair out so bad my hair got frizzy and a tangled mess.

I have been using Tweak'd from HSN. I love it so far. Super easy too because you put it on dry hair, mid-shaft down for about 10 minutes (or however long it takes you to get stuff together to get in the shower). There are two kinds. One is a foam and one is a cream. I bought both and actually like both of them.

Once in shower you then wet it lightly, and scrub it around (gently). It becomes sort of foamy/creamy. Then you just rinse it out.

It is both shampoo and conditioner, so it shortens my shower time by 10 or more minutes.

I am also hair thinning. It breaks my heart when I look at the screen thingie I have over my drain so the hair doesn't go down. So much hair. It turned out to be my thyroid. On meds now, and Dr says it will grow back but hormone imbalances of any sort really messes up hair growth. It will never be the thick hair I used to have. Of course I am mid 60's, so nothing on my body will ever be the same

I really love Tweak'D Rise & Shine Self Cleansing Hair Treatment that comes in the tall container, and dispenses in a foamy cream. You apply it to your dry hair, leave on about 5 mins and then wash out. It is excellent and gives a lot of body to your hair. I just bought 2 more.

The Isomers Hair Serum is the best. The Revive Shampoo and Conditioner are fine, too, but it is the serum that really has helped my hair. It makes my scalp very healthy and makes my hair stand up more at the roots. I am not sure that it has increased the amount of hair on my head, but it does make my scalp and hair healthy and shiny. I also just started the Capillus laser cap, which I got at Costco.com. Thinning hair is the pits and is much more common than you know! Many Hollywood stars wear wigs or hair enhancements when you see them looking so perfect!

@gabstoomuch @nyc1 Thank you BOTH!! I have looked and Tweak'd quite a few times, I used to love the Ojon Oil back in the days. QVC has a good price on the Rise & Shine, maybe I will give that a whirl and also find a good scalp treatment.

Does the Rise & Shine help with detangling also? When my hair is wet it seems to tangle easy because it's long. THANK YOU for taking time to help a girl out, I appreciate it way more than you know - We are all busy, so taking time is so thoughtful.

@Nice Karin You made such a wise comment, now that I am thinning more I tend to look at people on TV, even the news gals HAHA!! But you are right, a lot of them have clip in extenstion and so on and also use powders to cover their scalp. A gal i work with uses clip in extension right by her part line, it makes it look more lifted, I asked her how she gets since a lifter root/part area and she showed them to me, I was actually happy to see them because if made me feel better knowing I wasn't alone in the struggle. Getting older is not for wussy's!!! haha

Anyone who uses that fill-in powder (for ex. Joan Rivers Great hair Day) to hide thin spots on your scalp...just wanted to say that as an experienced hair laser user myself, I know you must wash off and not just brush off the powder from the scalp so that the laser lights can do their job. I am surprised to see how many people do not do this. A hair laser will not work if there is something on the scalp that blocks the lights, including fill-in powders. Just wanted to throw that out there.
