Color for senior brows?

Was originally a blonde and colored blonde when the gray invaded. Got tired of coloring my hair and totally accept that most of us seniors have gray hair, so stopped coloring.

My brow hair is very sparse. Still using the It Cosmetics brow stick that I've used for years. It's a one-color taupe that you can make light to dark by how you apply.

Question is, should I begin using a gray eyebrow color or is it ok to stick with what I'm currently using?

I am 75 and have shoulder length gray hair. I use IT taupe but my brows are still very dark with a few grays that need to be colored (or occasionally pulled). Sometimes I need to color in a sparse tail; my brows and hair are still thick. Periodically I will put Vaseline on brows, comb them straight up and then trim them evenly (as we age sometimes our brow hair develops a life of its own).

It's impossible to say without knowing your hair and skin color. Try different colors and take pictures to see which you like best. Here are some examples. I think the last one (eyebrow color with her hair color) looks awful. That warm eyebrow with her cool hair doesn't work.

I think I would stick with taupe. l am no expert though.
Maybe the ladies have better suggestions. Hold out for more replies Some of them do this for a living.😊

Bobbi Brown makes a brow pencil in grey. It is really more of a soft taupe. I am very silvery with still some lighter brown. It is my favorite both in color and texture.

Last week @Sweet_Serenity suggested taupe. My hair is more gray than salt and pepper.

I love this look.

@WildDunes I heard a vendor on QVC say that if you have gray hair you should use taupe. I don't know if everyone would agree with this, but I think taupe looks best with gray hair.

I would stay with the taupe. I would only use a gray if my eyebrows were a very light gray.

I would go to either Ulta or Sephora to get matched. The other day I was in Sephora and was interested in the Urban Decay Brow Blade. She matched me with a color that if I had ordered online would not have chosen. It was a perfect match though.

@WildDunes I would try the gray eyebrow color and see how it looks compare to your current one and then make a decision. The Q takes returns within 30 day; Nordstrom has free shpg and free returns and you can return something that does not work out for you. I really feel if you compare the two eyebrow shades you will be satisfied. Good luck.

My hair is salt & pepper - mostly salt. The pepper is still dark brown/black. I apply a very dark brown by Anastasia. It comes in a duo, but I'm used the 1/2 that was a lighter brown. Always took my eyebrown brush and stroked across both shades before applying. A lighter shade would fade me out and be too much of a contrast with my hair color.

To me, your eyebrow color should also compliment your complexion. I was also a fair skinned blonde who turned silver gray. I continue to use the same light taupe eyebrow pencil I've always used -- CG taupe, 2 in a package. I tried other shades from gray to brown as my hair color was changing, but the taupe pencil always looked best on me.

I had to tweak a few of my makeup color choices as my hair changed color, but stuck with the CG taupe.

Thanks to all of you who replied. Appreciate your help so much. I do think that for me, staying with the taupe is the best. Thinking that the gray would age me - but I'm going to try it as some of you suggested.
