Drug store mousse

In the market for a new hair mousse, something available at the drug store. I have straight thick hair, need something to prevent the limp look. Appreciate any suggestions.

@MsMeow My only suggestion is to try to avoid mousses that say plumping or thickening. They usually contain alcohol. Also those w/ silicone will coat your hair causing it to be flat. Good luck on your search.

Try John Frieda Luxurious Volume Mousse. No Alcohol. It is recommended for fine hair (and the John Frieda website indicates it can be used on other hair types, but all performance claims relate to fine hair) but it might work for you. No animal testing.

@FlyersGirl The second ingredient is isobutane. I don’t pretend to be a scientist, but when I googled it, it seems to be a form of alcohol.

Not Your Mothers brand has many well liked products. I’ve used a few myself. They have a whipped aerosol mousse and another one that’s a lightweight product in a pump bottle.

Also not a scientist...just got the 411 from the John Frieda website

"Does the new Luxurious Volume® Perfectly Full Mousse contain alcohol?

No, this volumizing mousse does not contain alcohol"

so who knows what to believe?

I have tried many but always come back to John Frieda brand resulting in really big hair . I sometimes use thier luxurious volume root booster. I find the later works really well when I have layers cut.

@coffee drinkerThose products are definetly better for your hair plus you get help making a decision.

My former hair dresser told me several years ago that famous name products that are sold through drug stores and walmart are actually different folmulas than what the salon has. You don't even realize your error until your damage is noticeable.

I go to TJMaxx and buy Big Sexy. I love their Root Pump. Works great!
