      <title>I Lost 8.5 lbs in 2 Weeks</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Good morning everyone,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I thought I'd share what I've been doing to lose weight. I've been following a "modified" Perriocone diet. I truly believe in his philosophy when it comes to eating so I've adjusted it to suit my life and it's working! I'm averaging 2000 calories a day so in no can you call what I'm doing a crash diet. Also, I go to the gym 2-3 times&amp;nbsp; a week (more like 2 with the Northeast cold keeping me inside) and for no more than 45 minutes. I do a little cardio and mostly strength training.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This is what I'm doing:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-Not eating meat. Instead I have salmon and sardines: Anyone who knows anything about Dr. Perricone knows he is constantly extolling the virtues of salmon. I have about 3 oz in the morning.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-Not eating wheat: Many including Dr. Perricone are not proponents of eating it. Morever, I recently found out that I have a gluten intolerance. I'll have bread every so often, but I'm switiching over to rice.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-Eating lots of protein: Thank you Andrew Lessman for Secure! It is the best meal replacement on the market. I have it with milk which I know many think is a no no but I love it. This protein shake really satisfies my sweet tooth.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-Taking Carnitine with Omega 3 Fatty acids: this is a great combination which will make your body burn fat. Don't ask me how. I use Andrew Lessman's products. Dr. Perricone makes supplements too but they are very costly&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;And that's about it. I have a coke every so often. I skip the gym if it's too cold. I'm not perfect. BUT I have easily made these changes to my life. It's sustainable and I don't feel deprived and trapped, which is how i felt before when I went on a diet. I felt like I had lost my rights or something because so many foods were off limits.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'll make sure to keep you abreast of my progress. I just like salmon and broccoli. &amp;nbsp;I&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;n the morning I have a Thomas' Multigrain English Muffin with strawberry preserve, I don't fret over the preserve.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I have a Vitamix. I'll have 1-2 smoothies throughout the day. In the evening I At night, I'll have a salty snack- vege straws or multigrain chips, not a lot, maybe a cup, but it's enough to munch on and watch a show.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I do not drink very much plain water. &amp;nbsp;24hrs/day, I drink a lot of Iced&amp;nbsp;decaf green tea-cold water from faucet, never heated water, plain unsweetened.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;green tea, salmon, broccoli,&amp;nbsp;smoothies&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;There are days when I have other foods, I don't worry, because I know I'm always going to have salmon or a smoothie, very soon. &lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I've felt my best these past 10 years than I have in years.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;img id="catvery-happy" class="emoticon emoticon-catvery-happy" src="https://community.qvc.com/i/smilies/16x16_cat-very-happy.png" alt="Cat Very Happy" title="Cat Very Happy" /&gt;&lt;img id="heart" class="emoticon emoticon-heart" src="https://community.qvc.com/i/smilies/16x16_heart.png" alt="Heart" title="Heart" /&gt;&lt;img id="catvery-happy" class="emoticon emoticon-catvery-happy" src="https://community.qvc.com/i/smilies/16x16_cat-very-happy.png" alt="Cat Very Happy" title="Cat Very Happy" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;That is a significant weekly loss, athough that often happens at first.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I strongly believe in not cutting out any group of foods but instead highlighting some more than others. But everyone has to do what makes them the most comfortable.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Congratulations and thanks for your specifics in how you are doing it!&amp;nbsp; I also don't like fish much, but salmon can be prepared in so many satisfying ways.&amp;nbsp; Try broiled teriyaki salmon or grilled bbq salmon for those that don't like fish.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Salmon is available at costco in salmon patties in the freezer section- they taste burger like to me!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Sounds like every thing your doing is paying off. I take. Omega vitamins. Wondering if this counts.&lt;BR /&gt;I think it helps me. I do exercise daily and mostly work on my legs after I shower. 30 squats. I don't know why but it became a habit. Wierd I know!</description>

I bought one Vitamix 7500, kept it for a few months, it just sat unopened, returned it, decided I made a wrong decison, so bought another, it sat around unopened too, &amp;nbsp;sold that one and yes, I bought a 3rd, the Ascent 3500! &amp;nbsp;That one I've kept and love it.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I only make one kind of smoothie, the fruit changes a little: I don't measure any longer, just eye it,&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;four&amp;nbsp;16-20oz smoothies per 64 oz container&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I like them thick to use as a meal too.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;cold green tea just enough to make the thickness drinkable, but you can use water, juice, whatever you'd like.- just enough to get it going, i may add more during the blending if it gets to being ice cream, which by the way is great!&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I get kidney stones, so I have to&amp;nbsp;choose&amp;nbsp;ingredients&amp;nbsp;with that in mind. Kale use to be a no no, many things are if you have the calcium oxalate form, but kale is ok, a lot of items are, and &amp;nbsp;foods that are occassional, can be ok if calcium in *food* form, not supplement form, is&amp;nbsp;ingested the same time.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Spinach is a big no no.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;here's my day in day out smoothie&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;16-20oz's &amp;nbsp;nonfat plain greek yogurt &amp;nbsp;(avocado is also very good) I just use yogurt&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;2 huge handfuls of kale&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;always frozen fruit-&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;blueberries&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;dark cherries&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;pineapple&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;i might use all three or just 2. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I'm still trying to find good frozen cantalope or green melon&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;you can always fresh banana ( good frozen too) or any fresh fruit, but if you use only fresh fruit add ice.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;I like frozen fruit because, can skip the ice.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;i really pack the machine, (if you have a Vitamix use the tamper, it's your friend.)&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I'll also add &amp;nbsp;2-4t Tbls milled flax seed (chia is a no for stone formers)&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;and a tablespoon of real maple syrup, it has health benefits like honey. &lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3" color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Maple &amp;amp; Honey have similar benefits to the cardiovascular, inflammation, neurological systems. Andrew &lt;SPAN class="mce-spellchecker-word"&gt;Lesssman&lt;/SPAN&gt; uses Splender&amp;nbsp;(&lt;SPAN class="mce-spellchecker-word"&gt;surcalose&lt;/SPAN&gt;) in his meal replacements plus another type of sugar.He never mentions this when he presents it but there is sugar in it. I bought it and as soon as I saw&amp;nbsp;he has &lt;SPAN class="mce-spellchecker-word"&gt;Splender&lt;/SPAN&gt; in it in the trash it went. I can buy&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;any shake with sugar in it &amp;nbsp;in the supermarket and of course it will taste great. I would think he would use Monk fruit or another sweetener&amp;nbsp;that is a better sugar substitute.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I think that it's wiser to lose weight in a way that you will be able to continue after you are on maintenance. What I mean is that it is wiser not to depend upon "replacements (liquid or otherwise) that may not even have the best ingredients.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you need to supplement your meals for some reason, better to do that with maybe yogurt, fruit, or a handful of nuts.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The ultimate goal is to change your pattern of eating in a sustainable way so that you will be less likely to regain the weight.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
