FALSE EYE LASHES?

I've been thinking of trying false eyelashes. Every mascara I've used, from drug store brands to prestige, has been a disappointing mess. I end up with the product flaking, smudging, etc. Rather than continuing down the path of mascara messes, I thought falsies might be what I need. For those of you who are experts, please recommend brands to try and instructions in application. Thank you!

I am 64 and have been wearing false eyelashes almost daily for 5 years now and love it. I really like strip lashes from Ardell, Andrea, Kiss, etc. that you can get at Walgreens, CVS, Target, etc. I also like the brush on white adhesive that dries clear. You would benefit watching YouTube videos for application. It will take a little practice but you will get the hang of it.

Try Josie Maran’s Argon Mascara .... you won’t need false eyelashes .... her mascara is the best I’ve ever used 😍

Definitely buy the new NON glue lashes. I know Benefit Cosmetics sells lashes but not sure if they require glue. Check out Nordstrom and do a search. Good luck. I wore them many, many years ago but not now. I use Origins Fringe Benefits mascara in dark brown.

Lash extensions are fab but expensive to keep up ever 3 wks. like you would a nail fill. I had them & I had no need for mascara. I was referred by someone who had them & loved the way they looked. You can't use waterproof mascara with them tho. If done correctly there is no need for Mascara. I had no problems with loss of my natural lashes. I got the more natural look. There are pro's & Con's with eyelash extensions. But never get them done at a nail salon. Only a place that specializes in extensions & someone that is a cosmetologist.The woman that did mine had 10 years experience & only used medical grade glue. There are some horror stories having them done by inexperienced people. Do your research. I just decided that I did not want to keep up with them.

BFF lost ALL her natural lashes due to wearing extensions. It turned out she was allergic to the glue that was used.

I gifted her a vial of Careprost and a new liner brush.

I thought about it too, but 5+ years ago I committed to using the Careprost faithfully (and that is the key) and my lashes are thick, long, and darker (originally blond and almost clear and now they are a light brown). I have actually had to trim off the tips and cut back to a few days a week to keep them up.

Here's the trick, you must use it faithfully every night AND it takes 3 or more months for the results - then you must use it a few days a week at least to keep them up or they return to the original over time. It is tempting to quit using it when they are long and lush but you cannot.

I seldom have to trim my strip lashes. My favorites are Andrea #90 & 91. Also I like Ardell #172 (I think it is Ardell).

I have used Revitalash faithfully for several months and my lashes get a little longer but they curl dramatically and not in a desired way. I quit using it and am sticking to the false eyelashes.

I periodically wear false lashes for special occassions. I like the Ardell lashes. I just make sure I buy a realistic looking set. Nothing spiderly or overly full and long as they just scream fake.

I also had false lashes professionally applied. I absolutely loved the look but there are definitely some cons to them. You cannot use anything oil based at all on your eyes as oil will loosen the glue. Any cleanser or make-up remover you use on your eyes must be 100% oil free as does any eyeliner.

If you are a side sleeper, the side you sleep on will lose lashes more quickly. The initial lashes weren't expensive to put on but they are expensive to keep up and the longer you go between fills the more expensive it is. It was $60.00 for a fill after 2 weeks and $75.00 for a fill after 3 weeks. If you went longer then 3 weeks they considered you needing a new full set.

Depending on how you sleep, the lashes may start to crimp and get funky looking, sticking out in various directions.

I loved the look of them and was able to go without any other eye make-up but I'd need filled every 2 weeks and I'm not up for the time or expense of that.
