Is Anyone Using The Beachwaver?

I'm sending mine back today. I think this dog is just too old to learn that new trick. But I will say the few waves I was able to get in my hair as I was wrestling with the contraption did look nice.

If you do a search...there was a thread about the Beachwaver not too long ago when it was just being offered as a TSV around Christmas.

I posted there...I have used it since it was first brought to QVC years ago.

Have and use all three sizes.

I absolutely STINK at styling my hair. Can't use a round brush and dryer to save my soul. I have had an arsenal of tools. I am not gifted w/ the hands of a stylist.

I did not think there was much of a learning curve at all. Kinda "If I can do it, anyone can"

I LOVE the Beachwaver. My curls or waves last until I wash them out.

Not everyone agrees, but for me it is by far the best hair tool I have ever owned, all others went in the trash.

I can let my hair air dry willy nilly, cuz I know I will Beachwaver it into a beautiful style.

They have lasted for years so far. However, if it died? I would be waiting at Ulta's door to buy a new one...full price.

Note: I have had shoulder length hair but now have it grown down my back to just above bra line.

My sister had a very short bob, like the original Jill Bauer hairdo, you now, kinda sticky outty...and she struggled with it. I believe her hair was too short to get a good twist.

IMHO, shoulder length and below is best for this item....

@RespectLifeMy hair has almost always been longer. I can't handle a round brush either! Arms in the hair for all that time trying to turn a brush is impossible!

When I had my body wave just before Christmas, one of the stylists hair looked unbelieveable! I asked her, and she was using a waver and sleeping on it to get the look. I could do that. I HATE morning but am a night owl!

Is your hair one length? Do you think I'll have a problem?

I twist up my hair at night in a wide clip. It doesn't crush the curls at all and helps them last til washed out.

Chaz (WEN) always said to use a scrungie, but I could never get my hair to stay up in one of those. Flopped right down, so a large clip has helped.

I am with you...big NO in the mornings. I barely have time to paint my face on b4 work. And as I age, there is a LOT more painting to be done! LOL

There is no way I have time to wash OR curl my hair in the morning. I wash when I get home from work. Let it air dry...then curl right b4 bed.

I have long layers everywhere. Probably the shortest layers go to the top of my ears and then go on down. My stylist has always layered me to get it to look fuller and not flat. My lower front is angled in layers as well.

If I want a total full head of curls...I do the shorter layers up top for the same amount of time. If I want a smoother top (besides using the largest barrel) I release a lot quicker.

I also do not ever leave my ends sticking out like some of the models have demonstrated. I like a complete curl all the way to the tips.

I clamp a few inches up. Press the button and go up. Then I release the clamp little by little until the ends go totally around the barrel at well.

This is a picture of the back of my head using the 1" barrel. I had just had some funky color done to it and my stylist wanted to play with the Beachwaver.

Not to boast...but I can do it just as good! LOL BTW- I part down the back and pull to each side and work in those sections. As I finish a curl...I flop it to the back. Too lazy to use clips as my stylist did.

HEY! It worked! I am no better w/ electronics than I am with hair!

Lately, I have been using the smallest 3/4" with tighter curls.

That is the first time in my life I ever did color anywhere except the grey roots. I was bored and told her do whatever you want! LOL I think I am a little too old for the ombre color but who cares! It's only hair!

I bought it for my daughter at Christmas and she loves it. She did say you have to play with it for a bit and that there was a bit of a learning curve, but she loves it.

ECBG, I have had the exact same experience as RespectLife, I can't blow dry with a round brush or use a regular curling iron to save my life, but I have all three sizes of Beachwaver, I bought the 1.25" size when it was the TSV. I would never try to get curls or waves in my below-shoulders length hair any other way.. Just make sure you always use a heat protectant compound on your hair and make sure the curler speed is set on the low setting until you get the hang of using it to get the waves or curls you want, and I am sure you'll be happy with a Beachwaver.
