The ONLY thing that’s ever helped my dry lips is Cococare Cocoa Butter lip balm. It’s hard to find but I believe you can get it on amazon.com. I live in Minnesota- cold and dry this time of year. I think I saw you post that you’re in CO? Our climates are pretty similar.

I use the Burts Bees lip balm with the silver cap. I live in a cold and snowy region and this lip balm works very well.

Most chap sticks/lip balms dry my lips out within minutes as well. My husband buys the Cocoacare balm for me in BULK (I get about 20 each Christmas in my stocking) because he knows I’ve struggled to find something that works for years. I’ve been using the Cocoacare balm since 2002 when I first discovered it and I’d probably panic if I hadn’t have a stash of them.

Aquafor Healing Ointment, Vaniply Ointment or Vaseline. All do an excellent job.

Cocoa butter - it's amazing. I learned this when I was an exchange student in Argentina. You will never go back to chapstick after you have used cocoa butter. Try to find the purest form of cocoa butter you can. Someone mentioned Cococare. I have found this at my local, independent, family pharmacy. (But it melted over the summer and now I can't get the tube to pop up - I've been desperately digging into the poor thing trying to get just a little bit of cocoa butter on my finger tips. Lol!) Sometimes you can find Cococare at Walgreens. Palmer's also makes a stick, which is much more available. It usually contains a sunscreen too, but that's OK. You can usually find that with the rest of the Palmer's body lotions at Target and Walmart, maybe even Dollar General? Sally's might have sticks of cocoa butter too. It's not terribly easy to find, but it's possible. (And, of course, you can always order online)

And drink your water!!!

I live in CO also and I use a sugar scrub on my lips to exfoliate them and then I use Carmex. It makes an amazing difference. I try to do the scrub once a week. Don't scrub really hard just do it enough to slough off the dry skin from them.

@Booksamillion If you can't get out, Vaseline will help in a pinch. Otherwise, I use Burt's Bees honey lip scrub and then apply a lip moisturizer (lip balm). It's good to exfoliate the lips to keep them soft and in good shape.
