I hate fragrance in color cosmetics!

I hate fragrance in color cosmetics! There, I said it! The gimmicky trend to put fragrances in color cosmetics like eyeshadow and other palettes is a turnoff. It's a hard pass for me. I have a sensitive nose and can smell things others can't easily so I do not want to smell stuff that's on my face. I want it unscented.

I agree. I have sensitive skin and fragrance allergies. I'd like fragrance out of all skin care and cosmetics.

I can't use eye makeup except for a brow pencil, but I'm working to eliminate lots of fragrances elsewhere. I buy all my handcreams and body creams in unscented versions and have even switched from most WEN to other haircare mostly because I react better to fewer scents than I used to, I like my Purity, but I bought the scented 3-in1's only one time long ago.

And nothing at sll to do with QVC-type items - I buy traditional versions of laundry detergents or those marked unscented.

I agree. I dislike lipgloss that smells like vanilla or fruit.

And lipstick that has a strong perfumey taste and smell.

i just bought a Cover Girl foundation that smells like perfume. Why? Who perfumes their face?

Why is fragrance in cosmetics and skin care? I was told by one company it’s because women will not buy something if it doesn’t smell good.

Right here on these boards posters often mention the aroma of a product as a selling point.

HSN is selling the Two Faced pumpkin spiced eyeshadow palette and lip gloss. They smell like pumpkin spice. I have the Two Faced Coca Contour Palette and it smells like chocolate. That is actually very pleasant cocoa scent. But I am not sure about smelling like pumpkin spice.

ITA!!! I don't wear perfume. I buy mostly unscented products. There are a few I can tolerate.

I don't want some stinky smell up my nose all day. LOL!!!

My eyes & nose run all the time so fragrance only makes it worse for me.

We don't need to be inhaling chemical fragrance all day anyways.

Guess I've never paid that much attention.... yes, there are some cosmetics that I've used that had a fragrance, but the smell always went away after a few seconds. I'd rather smell an added fragrance than the natural odor of the ingredients.

I’ll have to pay special attention to this. I haven’t noticed a fragrance issue in any products I use except lipstick/gloss. Those do not bother me. Face makeup products? No fragrance.

Yes, me too. I do not want fragrance in my foundations, powders, blushes, eyeshadows, mascaras, skin care, etc. It is irritating to my skin and also the smell sometimes gives me headache and makes my eyes water.

Agreed. I don't like overly fragranced products unless it is supposed to be fragranced. I don't like food scents. I have wanted to buy a Dry Bar product, Triple Sec, for my hair. I love it but is so strong I could still smell it after 3 hours. Only reason I won't buy it. I realize I am overly sensitive to scents so others may love these fragranced products. Perhaps I am speaking for the minority. I remember the days when you walked into a department store and they started spraying you with samples. I seriously gives me a headache. There have been many products I have bought or tried and couldn't handle thescent. I don't even understand why certain make up products are scented.

It’s not the smell of fragrances that bothers me. My problem is perfume in cosmetics and skincare always makes me break out. And these allergic bumps are so very hard to get rid of.

And while natural smells can be stinky, unless I am allergic to a natural ingredient, I know it won’t irritate or damage my skin.

ITA- I hate it, too. YSL has some pretty good foundations, but they are drenched in fragrance. I stopped buying their products many years ago because of it.
