Has your hair salon switched to dyson's hair dryer?

Supposedly hair salons love this hair dryer and was wondering if the salon you go to uses it.

World Traveler recently paid a visit to Chaz Dean's salon in Beverly Hills and I was wondering if he's using it.

I also wonder if Nick Chavez has ever commented on it or stated that he uses it in his salon.

No, I doubt she would give in to the hype. Her regular one works fine.

Where I last went they don’t like it bc it dries out the hair. Both the stylists and customers comment on how dry the hair looks and feels after using the Dyson.

This is what I asked him last December:

I saw you use the Dyson hairdryer on QVC; what did you think of it? Why aren’t you using it in the salon since it speeds up the drying process? He had it in the salon for a while and felt it was more like a toy for him, so does not use it in the salon. He feels it would be good for people to have at home, but not for his salon. Not heavy-duty enough for the salon. "It is good for hair because it does not heat up to the point where it would burn your hair." He did love the diffuser on the Dyson.

I have been to his salon five times since then and he still does not have the Dyson. I didn't look to see which brand he is using.

By the way, his salon is in Hollywood. I think NC's is in Beverly Hills, not sure.

He uses a Conair Pro Yellow Bird...$40 Walmart.

And I have enough hair for everyone w/ a bunch left over.

Thick-thick hair...he dries it in minutes; I dry it in minutes.

And don’t even mention Wen to him.

I doubt it, but I also have never asked or looked. The stylists where I go bring their own tools - I doubt any of them would spend Dyson dollars unless it would really save them enough time they could use to style more clients.

I had asked a previous stylist whether he thought I should buy the T-3 from years back. He recommended I save my money, not because the dryer wasn't a good choice, but because it wasn't a good choice for my hair. I have short hair and, with age, less of it and he felt I should stick with what was already working for me.

My personal belief about brushes and dryers is that the skill of the user is every bit as important as which product is being used! I'm virtually always happy when I leave my salon which is probably why I haven't paid any attention to the dryer.

At close to 400 big ones for the dryer, I figured that I could purchase a new hair dryer every year for ten years costing 40 bucks a pop. I also figure in half that amount of time there will be a new something on the market that has extra special widgets that dry my hair, condition it and color it all in one (kidding) Anyway, my point is that the hairdryer will be obsolete in that amount of time.

@puttypiesmom Each hair stylist buys their own equipment so if your hair stylist buys the Dyson, lucky you. No for me. I have no idea what she uses.

Mine uses one and swears by it...has really helped her wrist pain from holding dryers for so long. Quieter too. I would love to have one but they have to get a lot cheaper.

At the salon I was going to, the stylist did have one for her own personal use and absolutely loved it and swore by it but she didn't use it on her client's in the salon. She said it was too much money and she just wanted it for personal use. The dryer she did have was a professional drier but from a regular brand we can buy.

The salon I go to now, my stylist doesn't use it and I have never seen any other stylists using it either.

Maria McCool often puts videos on her FB page of cuts and styles and she's never used it in one of her videos either.

Yes...and my hairdresser says it the best hairdryer she has ever used. She has the professional version.

My stylist has used the Dyson for over a year. If asked, she’s very chatty about her love of it.

My stylist got one for Xmas from the owner. He's an employee. He loves it but doesn't think I should get one. He didn't think it would make a difference because I'd lose the advantage because I can't work as fast as he can. He thought it would get too hot too quickly.
