Question about eyeliner!!

I’ve always lined the top & bottom lashes.Recently I’ve noticed that the liner on the bottom doesn’t last the day .It has to be reapplied 2 or 3 times.I keep buying different brands,all well known brands, & nothing lasts.

I use pencils.I don’t like liquid liners.They look to harsh. I just tried the Urban Decay 24/7 liner & it doesn’t last either.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanx!!

Eyeshadow using a thin, flat, straight paddle styled brush.

i use a flat brush as @JeanLouiseFinch suggested and prefer the cream eyeliners in a pot.

i dont have any problems with eyeliner migration or disappearing.

make sure you allow enough time for your serums and creams to sink in prior to applying.

You could use an angled brush, if you prefer. I can do that on the upper lash line but find the straight one to be better for tight lining under/inside the upper lash line

@NicksmomESQ Are you taking about inner or outer bottom lid? Outer lid, underneath, I always suggest using eye shadow...even if you use navy or black, you can smudge it out so it looks less harsh.

*****If you’re using a eyelid primer, take a liner brush, put some of the primer on it and apply directly under bottom lashes, let dry. Shadow liners or waterproof only pencils should stay put. You can also use a tiny brush to apply lid primer lightly around lips, tap it until it disappears. This keeps lipstick & gloss from traveling into those cwappy lines.

Have you tried Bobbie Brown's gel liners in a pot? I used them before Urban Decay, and they lasted well. I just prefer a pencil to a pot. Also... if you try them .... be sure to close the top tightly, or they will dry out.

Laura Geller Kajal Liners are fantastic!! I line upper and on lower can even put on water line. It stays all day! No reapplying - and I am very oily (inc. eye lids) and summers are very humid here. Became an immediate fave after first use. Highly recommend! Oh, I wear contacts and no eye irritation ever, even when I wear on water line.

if i find them drying out, i usually add a drop or two of visine.

@Shanus-I’ve never used an eyelid primer. What brand do you suggest? I want to try your suggestion about placing it under the bottom lash. Thank you.

@AmericanBulldogMom Are those the chubby liners? If yes, difficult to do a fine line.

@Shanus Yes, they are chubby. There is a sharpener on the end to keep a point, but I never use it. I apply by holding it at an angle which gives me a fairly thin line, but not “fine” if that’s what you are looking for. Then you’d probably need to use the sharpener.

@San Antonio Gal I use Laura Mercier Eye Basics. You can choose a shade to match your skin tone (blank out redness on lid) or they come in lighter shades or darker ones. I’m quite fair & wear Linen. I sometimes wear it without shadow...just add tightline & mascara. Some choose one that’s skin tone as primer & a second darker shade (more taupe) to wear as shadow.

I use Jordana made to last gel pencil eyeliner on my lower lashline. The only place I have found it is Walgreens. It stays on longer than any other I have found. For upper lashline I use Wet n Wild Megalitarian....it is liquid but has the best, tiniest brush I have found so it is easy to work with for either a thick or a very thin line. It literally stays on until I take it off. The dark brown is perfect...not too harsh like black for my fair skin but dark enough to show up and look like I want. I have tried all the expensive liners but these are what work for me.

Nyx at the drug store has primers whcih are cheap and work well stay on all day. I have been using them for years. Laura Geller has great primers and Milani at the drugstore which people realy rave about their liners when I am done with my NYX I will give Milani a try.

@NicksmomESQ, it might be your eye cream. If there is too much oil around the eye area, your liner can slide away. I love Josie Maran's Devotion but I can't use it when I wear eye makeup. It smudges my eye makeup terribly.

Do you use an eyelid primer? Milani is good.
