topic Can essential oils take the place of day/night cream? in Beauty

I have recently become aware of all the benefits of essential oils with OCM cleaning & I have used rose hip seed oil as moisturizer with good results. I've been using Phil. when hope is not enough day/night cream for years but I'm thinking maybe different oils would be as good or better for my face. Does anyone use them exclusively and which ones are best? I''m thinking the oils with a good retinol & sunscreen may be worth trying.
