TOVA Signature is back.

Anyone have any info about it? Is there any reason to expect this new one is any closer to the original? Or is it the same revised formula that is just back in stock.

You'll never know until you try; but my guess it's no more the original version than the last 4 or so versions have been. Unfortunately, I think the beloved (real) original Signature is gone for good.

I am hoping this is the clean and fresh scent I loved a few years back, and I am sure that one was not the original Tova everyone raves about. I was late to the party on that one. Keeping my fingers crossed I actually get it!

I truly believe the original formula is gone for good .. to hope that she is bringing back the original formal is just wishful thinking 😊

How does her signature perfume smell like? I’ve heard so many positive things about it. Is there any other perfume which is similar, so I can at least get an idea? Thanks

Thats the only one I ever used and I love it. First spray I thought that it was horrible, but then it settled and I caught all of the layers of noted over the hours after I sprayed. Love it so much. My husband loved it too (this was from maybe 5 years ago so not the original but a keeper to me!)

I still love her fragrance. I loved it when I first bought it in the mid 1990's and I still love it today. I still have her quilted bottle of Signature and Nights. They are empty but you can still smell the fragrance. I'm sure when the IFRA (google it) banned certain substances many fragrance companies were forced to find other ways of reformulating their perfumes. To me Tova smells very similar to what is in the quilted bottle, not exactly the same but close enough. I will continue buying it as long as she keeps it coming.

Wonder why there were only limited quantities offered? It would be interesting to know how many the buyer actually ordered. Not enough, it seems, with it selling out so quickly.

@January121: The "original" formula cannot be brought back for TOVA or other designer perfumes due to the fact (discussed on many blogs years ago) that some of the imported ingredients became illegal and cannot be obtained.

Many parts of a classic perfume that may have once included botanicals are now relying on chemical duplicates. Which can be excellent. Or a miss.

Fans of the original TOVA Signature who want the exact same thing will not get it, but from the rave reviews of other fans, they are enjoying the close-match of the new TOVA.

I still enjoy the new version, as do others who compliment me on it.

Just wanted to clarify WHY . . .

Thank you all for your replies and comments. I wonder if Tova ever spoke to the issue that it is impossible to recreate the original and why? I tried several through the most recent years and was disappointed.

I will be watching for reviews of those who purchased the new one now on waitlist.

The change happened with the first supply after QVC bought out TOVA in 2002. Whether it was QVC that changed the ingredients or the buyout coincided with the banning of certain substances ... I don't know. I've never heard which ingredient(s) in the original version would have been on the banned list.

The notes are bergamot, jasmine, lavender, sandalwood & musk. I think it is the sandalwood, which started all the furor over the change years ago.

I haven't come across anything that remotely suggests Tova Signature in its glory.

Yesterday I wore a version, and really, it was quite nice and long-lasting. Also, there was no detection of anything synthetic.

This is a Tova Signature that I must have gotten a year or so ago. It is in a tall, 7" (3.4 oz.) bottle with a gold cap and a black bow.
