New Tova Signature

Just received this version and I feel this is the best yet. I used for many years and this is the closest to the one from years ago.

Maybe I'll try it again.

When I tried it for the first time several years ago, it had a foul (to me) smell. I was stunned that this was the much ballyhooed aroma.

I want this to be the one! I would love to know what the magical aroma of yesteryear was like.

@Mom in NY I wore the original many, many years ago. After the disappointing “copies”, years of absence, I’ve found so many other fragrances I love. I’m just not interested in it anymore.

@ItsME I think it sold out on Friday Night Beauty while I was away...introduced & sold out. Now a wait until Sept. or longer according to TOVA. There’s no fragrance worth that to me.

IMO, the fragrance is lighter than the original Tova and did not last 5 minutes on me. So sorry I bought it, I really should return it, because I am very disapointed .

@MalteseMomma TOVA, Phiosophy & just not cosmetics. Every product now seems to take the least expensive way out.

Thank you! I almost ordered. Then remembered the disappointment previously.

It is one of the greatest tragedies of QVC! I have watched beloved brands sadly destroyed from buy outs. I will always hold original (Tova) in memory.

That ship sailed long ago.

I almost ordered but decided to wait for reviews, Glad I did. Very disappointed that it's not the same as years gone bye. I used to buy bottles of the original. The last time it was on, just awful, returned it. I thought this would finally be the one. Guess not.

I don't know why any of us (including myself) would think this would be the original BECAUSE Tova swears it NEVER changed... it's always been exactly the same..so she says boo! just tell us the truth that the original can not and will not ever be back. p.s. I bought one.

My daughter purchased a bottle and received it yesterday. I smelled it and it smells the closest to the original that I've smelled in years. At least, it smells wonderful on her and she loved the original Tova. She is happy with this new one.

I found an original half used quilted bottle on eBay. After a half hour, the scent settled down and became lovely. Lasted ALL DAY. I took a chance being old, but it changed in 30 minutes❤️

Yes, much lighter! But, I think I remember that she suggested you let it age in the box, which should make it more lively. (Like where the flavors meld together in eating soup the next day.)

The last version I had gotten turned quite nice. That was a year or so ago; surprisingly, also has staying power.

I also got this latest version, where I will let things mascerate for a while. I know it's not like the original, but let's face it, there's nothing quite like Tova Signature.

I never heard about letting a perfume age??? Seriously?!! Usually if it’s old it turns rancid. What will they think of next?

If you have to "age" the perfume in a box for awhile, I wonder if those "instructions" are printed anywhere on the packaging??? (I've never heard of such a thing as far as perfume goes).

I never heard of it, either. But that's what she said. (Towards the end of the presentation.) I was taken a bit aback. But as I measure it with my last bottle, I guess one or more of the essences deepens in intensity.

I don't know. I make my own vanilla for baking, and the longer I let it mascerate, the more intense the flavor as well as its aroma.

For fragrances that don’t last long, I do this. Apply a non scented lotion to your wrists or other pulse points. Let dry. Spray fragrance. I’m in my 60’s and this is the only way to make my fragrance last even the expensive ones.

Please ask your daughter if the scent lasted??? I loved the original TOVA...wore it for years. Always received compliments and questions about where they could buy it!! I could put it on in the AM and by PM, still smelled great!! Will be on the lookout for the "new" in Fall..

The reason the scent didn't last like the original appears to have something to do with "absolute Jasmine". It was costing up to $10,000 per pound according to Tova. I suspect she had to find an alternate source for the absolute Jasmine which caused the fragrance to lose its staying power. I do think absolute Jasmine is the ingredient that Ives Tova Signature it's unique scent.
