HAVE YOU EVER CHEATED ON HAIRSTYIST?

When I went for my haircut yesterday, I tried a new salon where a friend had gone and gotten a super haircut. She did a great job and now can’t decide if I’ll go back to my other stylist.

Have you ever been a “regular” at a salon, but stepped out to try someone else?

Be brave, be adult & "Just Do It". It's your hair, time & $. If you need to go back, just be honest. Wanted to try something new. Don't make this a big deal. There's more to worry about in this life.

PS & btw: Yes, i've done & will be doing it again soon. Honesty & respect go over well.

I'm not married to a hair stylist, so no.

I'm not loyal to any one place or person when it comes to hair or pedicures.

Of course, I followed one stylist when she changed salons, and now I go to a dry bar for blow outs, they are aware of it

@Shanus Yes, I just switched salons in September. I had been going to my old salon for 7 years. The lady who did my hair was very nice, and I was always happy with how she did my cut and color. She had raised her prices a little bit over the seven years, which is normal. However, the last 6 months or so, her work was not up to par. Plus, she raised her prices to $20.00 more for her services. After a few visits of that, I found another salon that was recommended by one of my friends. This girl does awesome work! Love the cut and color each time I go. I have long hair and the style she gave me is very complimentary for me. Plus, her prices are way less than what I paid at the other place. I now go to where I like the service and the prices. Don't feel guilty about switching to a new stylist. After all, they are not paying us to come to them.

YES!!! My hair girl quit after 15 years and I have been stuggling with finding a new person. Am on my 3rd salon now and have another appt in June to see if the last girl will work out. She had to fix a botched cut for me. Still not happy with my hair but she had to do what she did to try to fix it---grrrrrrr!!!!!

Yes, back in February. I usually loved my hairdresser's work but my last haircut she layered my hair too much and I hated it. The new one trimmed any split ends and I haven't had a haircut in over 3 months. I love it and my husband who never notices much mentioned to me last night how much he liked my hair longer...

I don't understand why it's "cheating". To me, it's a business deal and I don't have an emotional attachment to that person. Maybe because people sit in the chair and tell someone about their personal lives and get attached that way. I've learned through the years to just keep it casual. It doesn't bother me to change stylists if I don't feel like they're doing what I want. I've changed 3 times in the last 2 years. The gal I go to now does a terrific job but I'm struggling with the cost. If she raises her prices I'll have to move on, and I won't feel guilty about that. It's just business.

For those who don't get the question...some of us have a close relationship with our hairdresser and care about them. We don't want to hurt their feelings.

My experience from a stylist or colorist perspective: I'm a client not a personal friend. They will do what's best for them. It's not personal, it's business.

@ahoymate IMO, if they only do what’s best for them & not the clients, their business won’t last long.

Yes ... a couple of time ... with other stylists in the same salon when he was on vacation. (I acted like I didn't know he was away.)

I wanted to change stylists because after 10+ years he acted like he owned my head.

Last November, I left him for good - a different salon just a block away from him! Older female stylist now and she "understands" me!

I spoke to a hairdresser that I was very close to about this exact

thing .. she told me if you are in the busines you should realize

that this is the nature of the business ......
