My review of Beekmans Blaack Night, dry skin cream

I ordered this from the Beekman site in the dry skin formula. I opted for this one , because the normal has vegetable oil high on the ingredient list. However, I'm not finding this cream to be hydrating, or emollient even though its labeled for dry skin.

My skin is pretty much on the normal side, and this cream is just ok. Very expensive for 1 ounce, and will not not last more than a couple of weeks.

Oh...I tried 3x to leave a review on their site, and keeps. disappearing. I gave it 3 stars, and basically only said it wasn't moisturizing enough. I wrote to customer service and asked why it disappears...its there immediately after my post, and confirm..then gone....they have not responded. WOW!!

I hate to think they would take it off being 3 stars...so only 3 reviews remain and all 5 stars. So now, I'm leaving my review here and probably more people will see it. I don't know what to think.

They require that you confirm reviews. They send you an email and you have to click on the link to confirm it, Then it is posted. If you do not confirm a review, it will not be posted. They do this even if you give a 5 star review.

I ordered their face wipes once. They smelled to high heaven and didn't remove very much. Sent them back. Then started reading all the complaints of a "spoiled" smell and that something was wrong with the product. Talked to CS and was assured they would send me some at no cost to replace the "bad" ones. After a couple of months I finally received a pack. I didn't like them but figured out they're CS is awful! So glad I found Goat Milk Stuff. Great CS and I've never had a bad product. Much higher quality than Beekmans. 1st ingredient is goat milk.

Credibility issues with reviews happens a lot. Recently I ordered a fragrance, Natalie, from HSN. Natalie Wood's daughter presented it. It was not remotely what was presented, scentwise. I and many others returned and gave a negative review on the HSN website. THEN suddenly, 2 stunning reviews appeared. Reviews that sounded like they were written to mitigate the previous ones. Very transparent. So, I always read between the lines. But you can't do that if original, negative reviews are removed. Very deceptive.

I bought some of their soap bars a couple of years ago....I was not impressed. I think they are putting out so many products so fast and not road testing them first. They seem to be in such a hurry to become millionaires that they are putting out substandard products .

I will NOT purchase from them ever again. They are gimmicky and pushy and having the goats on stage is just too much for me. Goats stink and poop everywhere. Yuk!🤢 THAT PART OF THEIR PRESENTATION DISGUSTS ME

I ordered the Blaaak eye cream. It does absolutely notta. It was a total waste of money. And the body balm with the sheen to it also sucks. I do, however, like their oatmeal scrub soap. Since I started using that to wash my face, my skin looks much better, not that it looked that bad to begin with at 71. i don't have too many wrinkles. I agree that they are producing so many products, there is now way they can all be everything they say they are. Goat milk only goes so far. I also got some other body lotions and the fragrance of most of them is almost eye-wateringly strong. Smells good, but it's just too much and I am not generally sensitive to fragrance.

I have never had a problem with their customer service, so that's why I was wondering what's going on this time around. I would only have to assume they're looking for rave reviews, and not posting my 3 star. Also, no response on why my reviews are removed. I've tried both eye creams, and face creams...nothing to complain about, nothing great, but I've used much better. I'll stay away from the face products and buy the bar soaps, and body creams...until I find something better. I do like those very much

I'm a bit taken aback about this review nonsense...so I feel to choose what I buy from them and will be very limited.

I really like everything in the new ylang bounty special coming up, but I'm not buying it. Not being suckered in for a bunch a products I really don't need, especially after they're playing games with reviews. I just bought the big jar of cream, and have the soap. For sure, I'll be watching and limiting my orders.

No big deal here...I'm dealing with much worse as we speak(just lost 2 beloved dogs, within 8 weeks, devastating to say the least)...that said, let's order what we enjoy, and move on when we feel it's time. Thank you for responses!!

@Dazlin - TY for posting your review. Too bad about your review not being posted. That's too bad, and yes, it appears they don't want to post it bc it's not a 'glowing' review.

I think retailers all play that game to some extent. I usually sort reviews from 'low to high'. I want to know what are the potential problems or reasons for dissatisfaction or returns.

Good that you posted here. We appreciate it! I find reviews/input here to be helpful...with some exceptions.

When a poster repeatedly posts nasty, unkind, and personal attacks about vendors and hosts, I find them to be COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE and avoid them. If they ask for product input and they end up not liking it for whatever reason, they will take it out on you. They are unstable, reckless and should be avoided!

I have not tried Beekman skincare, but I have purchased tbe soaps (love, love, love) and various other products mostly bc of the Bounty Boxes.

I think the sunscreen is very good. Interested to try the new one for face.

The Body Cream is AWESOME!!!!!

Most of the scents are good/usable. Really like Ylang Ylang. None of the scents are 'boring' to me.

I have had a few disappointments, but mostly very very good experience. And have gifted quite a bit with favorable feedback.

My current crush is Flower Market. Excited for the Morning Glory launch!

I LOVE Beekman bar soaps and the Body Butter. I also have their body lotions and hand washes, which are pretty good. I'm in love with several of the scents... Honey and Orange Blossom, Fresh Air and White Water, are my 3 favorite.

For whatever reason, I'm more skeptical about ordering skincare for the face from them, and have not done so.

I must admit that I am not a big fan of the facial skin care. The day duo is not quite enough hydration for my Florida 71 year old skin. It left my skin soft but shiney. I love the dewey, glowing look but this was a bit too shiney. The night serum and cream were sticky on my skin. I used moist skin as a vehicle for absorption but it still was stickey no matter hoew little I used.

I do LOVE the soap and body care. That is wonderful and absorbs quickly and leaves the skin oh so soft.

I will make a confession in that I purchased ODE products. I await their arrival and may even test on my face. My family all used Olive Oil to cook with and clean skin and their skin was magnificent. We shall see.........

received the new primer with sunscreen. it is a little thin. also it seems to lay on my skin. heading off to some fun in the sun. will see how it works. otherwise it will be going back.

Beekmans customer service finally emailed me about my post, said it'll be up to review, was a few days ago, and haven't yet to put it up...its been days...its NOT going up!! Sheesh, very short simple post, nothing bad, 3 stars. Whatever with them...it speaks for itself. I just got that big jar of body cream last time...don't need all that stuff in the kit. I also didn't think the hand creams, lotions were good, so wouldn't get those again, and I'm not one to use wipes either. I'd like to try the shampoo one day.
Seems I'm only liking the soaps, and body cream.
One thing, maybe you girls can help me...can you suggest a matching fragrance to go with ylang body cream? I tried some essential oils, but nothing came close...any other fragrances you think might come close?...NO ON BEEKMANS ROLLERBALLS, I don't like their toilettes in little rollers, and their scents do not last. Thanks for any other suggestions!!

@Dazlin - I love the Beekman Ylang Ylang the 1st time I tried it, immediately reminded me of Chanel No 5. It coordinates well.

I suggest you also look for fragrances that have tuberose. Maybe something at Sephora.

Chi town...I didn't think to look for tuberose, I thought ylang, which stinks on it's own. I haven't seen tuberose oils, or anything like that...but great suggestion, I shall hunt. I do have the new channel No 5 L'eau, but it doesn't smell like the body cream. Thanks...your always a positive!!

I just bought the body cream. I have tried several creams for extremely dry feet. so i though I would give Beekmans a whirl.... OMG! I love this stuff. my feet are very happy!! I got the vanilla absolute.... the smell takes some getting used to, but my feet do not mind. the smell lasts forever. I will have to look up Morning Glory.
