Question about eyebrows

One of my friends has let her hair go grey (some of her original color--dark brown) is still visible.

Here's my question: her eyebrows are reddish-brown (obviously, not natural). I think it looks a bit crazy.

Other opinions?

Depending on the type of friendship you have with her, you could go shopping and stop at Ulta or some equivalent and suggest trying different brow shades for her new look. Make it fun and she could suggest something different for you to try.

Maybe take her to a makeup counter like Lancôme or Bobbi Brown and both have a makeover?

The salesperson may suggest a new eyebrow color so you won't have to actually say anything yourself. Just make it a fun girls day out.

Are you sure they're not natural? I know a lot of people whose brows and hair color aren't an exact match. My friend in high school always complained because she had auburn hair and dark brown brows. There's even a genetic marker that give some men red beards even though they're not red-headed.

We don't go grey everywhere at the same rate. I'm greying on my head, but my brows are still brown with no signs of grey. It's common for men to have differnt rates of grey in their head hair and their beards.

But you get to look at her face-to-face, so maybe you've seen them another color before and know more.

I know! And the guys with white hair on their heads have naturally super-dark brows...?? Weird.

My hair is not grey it is white,has no color. I have very little eyebrows and they can not be seen because they are so light. I do not use any eyebrow pencil because any color looks odd. As for my hair I refer to it as just a unique, different color blond. My eyes and cheeks give color to my face.

I've been coloring my hair for more than 40 years, totally gray for about 30 of those years, but only this year at 76 do I see many grays in my brows. They haven't really faded much at all. Men and women can be alike!

My hair is perfectly white, but my eyebrows are still auburn color - and they are natural.

I'm not sure if you want opinions on her hair/brow coloring, or if you want a way to tell her that you think she needs to do something about it. If you just want an opinion, I concur with others that hair color can change while brow color doesn't change as fast - maybe her brows are natural, although you'd know that better than us. If you think you should suggest she change her brow color, I'd say that you should keep quiet about it.

I'd stay out of it. it could hurt feelings. Unless she ever asks for advice, help shopping for makeup, or makes a comment about brows herself.

I am 74 and my hair is grayish white and my brows are naturally brunette (,with a few grey hairs). I use a taupe pomade very sparingly to blend in those strays. My eyes and brows are my most dominant feature ( my brother has white hair and my brows).

Recently, when a friends mom passed away, she kept saying something didn't look right on her after the funeral home fixed her. She had lost her hair due to chemo, but it had all came back very white, yet her eyebrows were jet black!! I thought that looked odd, but I never said anything. I don't know if the funeral home colored them like that, or if they really came back black. They looked somewhat natural, but slightly too dark.

*My eyebrows are colorless, my hair is gray. When I try using a pencil or anything to color them, it looks like I've been playing in the make-up.

I have salt & pepper hair and my eye brows are med/dark brown. Looks good to me.

Hmmm OP your friend sounds very nice and confident in herself with her gray hair! (I will never let mine go gray!) Let it be. I could NEVER possibly hurt my friends feelings just because something is bothering only me.

My husband's black hair turned completely silver 3 years before his mustache did. Now his mustache finally caught up and is silver too. My hair was naturally blonde before it turned silver. From childhood until my 50's, my hair was blonde but my eyebrows were dark brown and very thick (I wish I had those eyebrows today!). My dad also had blonde hair and dark brown eyebrows. Different colors of hair and eyebrows happen naturally sometimes.

Are you sure your friend's eyebrows aren't naturally reddish-brown?

Wow. Flame away, but my opinion is that it's not very nice of you to be talking behind your friend's back, especially about a physical feature that she may not have any control over. How do you know for sure that her brow color isn't natural? A true friend would accept her as she comes and not say she looks "a bit crazy". Really, if it's noticeable to you, don't you think it's noticeable to her? If she wants to do something about it, she will and without your input. Would you like it if she went around talking about something "crazy" about your appearance?

As others have said, maybe they are natural.

The other night Sam Elliott was on the ACM awards. His hair is white and his brows are nearly black if not black. I doubt he dyes his brows.

Or is it possible she had them micro-bladed and they have to naturally fade to natural?

Honestly, I wouldn't say a thing. It might not be your choice of brow color but it's her hair and brows.

@insomniac2 My hair is also gray/silver with some of my original dark brown mixed in. My brows are still dark brown, with just a few grays. They are dark enough that I don't use brow makeup anymore, since I've let them grow in a bit. I like the contrast between my lighter hair and dark brows! I also just got new glasses with darker tortise shell frames to further the contrast.
