I have never done the microblading but my local news just had a thing about how you really have to do your research, as there isn't any regulations about the amount of training/education to do it. Showed some pretty gnarly, bad, results of a few women who got an infection from it. And heard it doesn't last very long--maybe 6 months or so. I would go to a reputable comestic /plastic surgeon for info.

YES! I had mine done about a year ago and am going back this weekend for a color touch up. I lost most of mine to alopecia and was having to draw them on every day boo. I love the result, absolutely love it. It can last up to 2 years, depending on how well your skin accepts the color. Yes, I've seen some terrible results (in pictures, not mine), but your microblade specialists should have a portfolio and you should be able to contact them. I have been contacted several times by people interested but wanted to verify my results.

It can be quite painful, but mine uses a really great numbing cream and the first session, I really didn't feel anything. The second session (6 weeks after the first), it didn't numb quite enough and I will admit it was extremely painful until that numbing cream finally kicked in after a second application.

Oh-cost--I had a Groupon for half price--$250 and the 6 week follow up was $100? My color touch up this weekend was $99.

Yes! I just had mine microbladed exactly 16 days ago. I was (and think am) very happy with the outcome; however, my question for @DrKelli if you don't mind, they have faded quite a bit in just this short time and my artist, as well as the research I've done, say they will fade and come back in darker again well before the 5 to 6 week retouch session.

Did you have this experience when you had yours done? Thank you in advance.

@fitfuninformed, yes, they faded (not a lot, but definitely lighter) and they did come back in before the touch up. I will tell you that when I had the touch up, she went a couple shades darker because the original color, while natural looking, got pretty ashy looking, so she matched my very dark brown eyebrows with the touch up. I have absolutely loved having the same eyebrows every day LOL!

Someone I know just had this done. When I saw her she had just had it done earlier that day so she said they were brighter than expected but was told the color would fade some.

I follow Dominique Sachse on You Tube and she does this. She has an entire video on it if you're interested. She said it's one of the best things she's done.

@DrKelli Thank you so, so much for your reply! Good to know that they may darken a bit again before the retouch. I too think I will ask if she go a bit darker in tone at the retouch because they look just as you say, natural but a bit ashy at this point.

I know I'm in good hands with her and trust her judgment. She wouldn't lead me wrong if going slightly darker may be a mistake. Everyone I've spoken with all say the same thing - that I will just LOVE my brows after my retouch in a few weeks. I'm hoping they're right, because it would be a beautiful thing not to have to do my brows everyday. What a time saver!!!

I had mine done last November. I literally had NO brows...im fair and platinum blonde. I chose to go lighter and softer, but they quickly faded to what they call ,The powdery look. My technician allows me to come back as many times, until I'm satisfied . I went 3x..we added deeper color, and more visible strokes. I lost a lot, but yet, I have brows. I would get more strokes next time. They can fade up 70%. Wonderful to wake up and see them. It most definitely opens the eye area, makes me look 10 plus years younger...who knew?? Now..down time is lousy...they look like black magic marker , that scabs over, the flakes, then peels. About 14 days. Google it. Also, after care is crucial...do not get wet , do NOT use cosmetics, etc. I still feel I could use more definition, and bolder color, after seeing the benefits . It's the down time that halts me. I wouldn't do this before a get together...although, you can lightly pat some loose powder over, but that's about it. Lots of info online. I get a numbing gel to apply one hour before...does ZILCH, NADDA, NOTHING!

Very painful, especially if you need the whole dang brow done. Bleeds A lot, so therefore, a special diet before is recommended ...no alcohol, aspirin, fish...and there are things to promote quicker healing, if you choose . Yes, I would do it again...why?...because I wake up with brows, that make me feel better about how I look .

Thank you @DrKelli and everyone for the great information. My brows are SO sparse from thyroid disease and as I get older, my face looks more and more washed out.

Question: What sort of business does the procedure? A dermatologist, tattoo artist,med spa, salon?

I think I would consider her operation a med spa because she does microneedling and other permanent/semi permanent makeup, and lash lifts.

Oh-and the aftercare--she told me to use coconut oil on them until the scabs were gone. Because my brows are dark, I couldn't even see them. I could feel them, but not see them. I also couldn't take my aspirin the day I had them done, but started after the procedure. I was told no water for only a day--I took a regular shower the day after with no issues.

I know several people that have had it done!

2 of which had literally no brow hairs left.

The results and price vary greatly

$250 to $650

The more expensive ones definetly look much more realistic, they are AMAZING.

The $250 ones look like someone penciled on brows not like real brows.

The one woman lost a lot her brow hair due to a thyroid/autoimmune problem and she had a horrible immune reaction to the process. They are trying to fiqure out if was the dye or the healing response that caused her problem.

Yes, several times and I love the results. Mine fade more quickly than some because I swim frequently. I literally fell asleep the first time-no pain whatever. I went to a specialist in ny that does this and tattooing but the procedures are totally different; I have done both. Expensive but worth it.
