Jimmy Coco Mine Tan ok extender not so much. Anyone experiencing this?

After seriously prepping I found the express tan ok. I used it on Sunday and I am olive skin. I even used a blending brush after moisturizing knees, elbows, feet and hands, an a little on my face. It didn’t have a smell really until after rinsing it off.
The tan extender I tried today and several hours later my skin is sticky. I didn’t use a lot but this feels nasty. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m ready to ship it back :/

There is the faintest smell with the regular tanning product but it did give me exceptional color pretty quickly. I really love and even prefer the tan extender. It was not sticky at all and has no scent whatsoever. I didn't even use the mit yet (do you wash it when finished or just leave the residual product on it and store it in a bag?) ... I used my hands to apply and then washed them really well with an exfoliator, then applied the tanning product to the tops of my hands and rubbed them together. I normally don't self tan, but we're off to Hawaii in a couple of days and I really want some color.

I'm very pleased with the color so far.

Edited to add... fyi, my skin tans very easily. It's not quite olive (close) and has a lot of yellow tones to it.

I find no scent upon initial application of the Hollywood Glow Mousse, next day a teeny bit of that "self tan" smell, but do like the color, dry down etc. I don't think the color lasts as long as some other self tanners I've used. The Everyday Glow Gradual Tan Mousse is a whole different story. It has SO much perfume in it as to make me nauseous. Granted I am sensitive to smells, but this is just beyond. I absolutely hate it and if I do keep the kit, will be throwing it out.

@sunsetbeach I am very sensitve to smells too. Maybe I was so happy it didn't have that self tanning scent, that I just ignored it. Can you use it on your legs so it won't be as close to your nose? It's really nice.... adds a little color and extends the color of the other product and is somewhat moisturizing.

I am glad I found this thread.

I leave for Maui in 3 weeks and wanted a self tan before we went so I could wear my shorts, my legs just look better with a hint of color IMO

I have the St Tropez Moose but my skin gets so dry and creapy when I use this and I'm just not very happy with it so I was on line looking this morning and saw the Jimmy Coco and came to the boards to see what others were saying.

Also, Tropez gives me a little orangy and I want brown .....

Debating if I should get this or not - by the time I got it, I would be leaving in a week so no real time to try and return before we leave. I waas going to bring the extender bottle with me iif I got it.

I'll keep watching for others to chime in before I decide

@SandGirl We leave for Honolulu on Sat and end the trip in Maui on the 19th. I don't self tan but really felt I needed a little color. ENJOY YOUR TRIP. Are you staying on Maui or going to other Islands too? This is our first trip to Hawaii.

@nyc1, if I remember correctly during the airing, Jimmy mentioned to rinse the mitt. I know that the mitt that comes with the other MineTan products can be washed. I ordered this but have not used it yet. Still can't get away from winter yet so I am waiting for better weather.

@nyc1 Enjoy your trip to Maui!! We have visited all the islands but Maui is our fav of all. Honolulu is great but it's like a city with palm trees, Maui is what people that never been to Hawaii imagine - same with Kauai - it's beautiful there too.

You will enjoy your trip for sure!! We go to Maui each year for our anniversary.

We fly to Maui about the time you will be coming back! ALOHA!!

I bought the MineTan in Moroccan and had not used it since winter was still hanging around here also.

I saw this set and ordered this also. I used the Glow last week and I loved it. It does have a smell but I don’t mind it. I just used it on my legs as I wanted to see the color and if I would like it. This kit is a keeper for me. It’s also very nourishing for my dry skin.

Yes, you should always wash a tanning mitt immediately after use. If you don't, it will get stained and disgusting.

@SandGirl Thanks ... you as well. We start off in Honolulu, then the Big Island, Kauai and end in Maui. I'm bringing mostly casual clothes. Since I'm going to be wearing short or no sleeves and some crops, I really wanted to get a little color on my arms and legs. I'm really liking this kit, and think I'll like it more when I use the mitt. The color is pretty true, and not orange.

THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO verified that you need to rinse the mitt when finished. That's what I thought but wasn't sure.

Got mine today - put on the "Tan" (brown bottle) and I did exfoliate my skin but is it normal that the color looks blotchy until you rinse it off? it is super sticky, glad I can rinse it in a couple hours.

I'll try the extender tomorrow. One thing I notices is like where I bend my arms in... it settles into those "lines" when I bend, I keep blending with my finger so its not totally settled in there, maybe when it rinses it will look better, I will report back

UPDATE: The tan turned out pretty good, not much color after I rinsed it off (I waited 5 hours) So, if I want it to be darker do I do the darker bottle again or should I just use the pink "Glow" bottle if I want to deepen my color?
