Sonia Kashuk leaving Target

All Sonia Kashuk products are on clearance.

I’ve gone to 5 different Target stores in two days looking for her foundation sponges, which are my favorite. 1 more store to go to tomorrow. Also had a friend check her store in NJ and two more friends are checking stores in their area for me as is my sister.

Trying to build up my inventory while I can!

I know,so sad. I love her blue makeup sponges, picked up a few at 50 off, as well as a few of the flat top buffing brushes, which are great, and a few makeup bags.

@susandee- thanks. I found plenty of round ones locally and bought a few packages, but it’s the oval, thicker sponges that I love.

@gidgetgh That doesn't seem to be the case online. Target has tons of her makeup, etc. online and it doesn't appear anything is on clearance. You may be able to order online your favs.

Sonia Kashuk left Target last year with little media fanfare and attention. This is speculation on my part, but my theory is: Target has only continued to sell the line until existing inventory is sold. Kashuk was a contracted employee who licensed her name to Target. Target took care of securing the formulas and manufacturing. They could just as easily hire another celebrity makeup artist and repackage the brand under a new name, so all may not be lost for those who really like the brand.

As for Sonia, she may surface as the founder or face of a new brand in the future.

A little more than a year ago, Sonia announced on her Instagram that she was stepping down as Creative Director of the brand.

@gidgetgh You are right. Sorry about that. When you first looked up Sonia Kashuk on Target website, it looks like everything is available. But when you actually click on the product, it isn't and shows if any stores closeby have any stock left. I think that is a bit misleading on Target's website.

@MissMaggieMoo- no problem! I’ve gone to all the Target stores in my immediate area and bought all that I found. A friend in Utah found two sets for me yesterday and another friend is checking her store today. Gathering a little stockpile, LOL.

I was at target this weekend and was told they were revamping their beauty offerings. In store sonia’s brushes will be offered, but it will be a new collection and a more edited collection. The target mgr said that she thought sonia’s cosmetics items would be available online. I don’t have high hopes, since Sonia is no longer affiliated with the brand the new items won’t share her vision. I also picked up some of the fragrance. The yellow one is very similar to anything verbena from l’occitane, good staying power and nice ingredients in the body cream and hand lotion
