How do you select a blush color?

I'm trying to find a correct color blush to wear. I was watching YT and some of the vids say to pick a blush color OPPOSITE your skintone. That bit of information was new to me. But then I reasoned if it is too opposite in color, your blush will look artificial rather than a natural glow from within which is my goal. What do you guys do in selecting a blush color?

For instance, I am a warm skintone with light yellow undertones. Therefore, I am a warm-light. So then according to the video I should be wearing say a cool pink? I'm not sure. What do your guys do when you select a color?

I went for a makeover at the Chanel counter and she found a blush for me that worked perfectly with my rosacea. It's a mauve color. I never would have picked it on my own.

It's my blush every day now. I tossed all other colors.

Oh good grief, whatever you do, don't buy one to match your lipstick! The other day I saw a young woman with a light skin color wearing a plum lipgloss and two big circles of plum blush on her cheeks ... she looked awful!

I am not a fan of heavy blush, so I've found one that goes with everything .... a very soft rosy / tan color that goes with any lip color ... and anything I might wear. It looks like it's my natural coloring and not even makeup. That way, I can wear a heavier eye or lip color without looking overly made up. Works for me, anyway.

If you are warm light, you should be looking at coral shades and stay away from cool pinks. A warm pink coral shade would blend with your coloring nicely. Make up ith Brown understones would look nice on you too.

Warm colored skin tones should always wear warm makeup colors. Cool colors do not look good on warm colored skin.

I use a blush every time I put on makeup which is every time I leave my house.

It's a cream pod and I bought it about 1 or 2 years ago from QVC. The problem is I don't know who makes it. It doesn't have (on the label) anything identifying it.

I bought it during QVC's program where they sell different and various products. Remember when they had those popup tents or something?

I just use BE's Glee. I'll try something else when I get it in a kit, like Tarte's December birthday gift from Sephora. But I always go back to Glee. It just works, cool light skin.

I am a light winter. Dark colors look like paint on me and I go for a medium rose. A friens sent me some makeup she never used and my favorite was in that group! Bare Minerals Azalea.

I was sort of confused by all of the explanations I found on-line about how to choose a color for blush. So I ended up buying a palette of different colored blushes and started playing with them. I could tell which ones were not quite flattering on me. It worked out pretty well so now I know what shade to go for when I need to buy more.

My go to is Benefit's tints. I love the Benetint, but purchased PoiseTint this years, because I found a deal on it. The Benetint is a pinky color... like a natural blush. When I first saw the PoiseTint, I thought it was so orange that it wouldn't work, but it does work well. I always top the tints with a powder blust or bronzer.... basically any color that I've gotten in a kit. Whatever I use works for me. I don't stress over blush color. But, I love to play with shadows and eyeliners!

Pinch your cheeks and you'll see your natural blush color. I realize not everyone wants the blush to be soft and natural, but the pinch idea at least can steer you to the right color family when stepping into more intense color.

I just got this one from Macys.com:

Benefit Cosmetics Rockateur Famously Provactive Cheek Powder. It's a beautiful rose gold color, it looks really natural & gives my skin a pretty glow. For reference, my skin tone is medium, with green or yellow undertones (varies depending on what color I'm wearing) & a little bit of redness to it.

Ulta has this Smashbox L.A. blush and highlight. It has a three different colors. Smashbox use to make one called "Softlights" and it was the perfect color for almost all skintones.
