i always do my own nails and toe nails and never had an outside pedicure doe by anyone other than my beloved mother.

my mom had a few good trades and amongst them was her sense of style and taste.

she was a wonderful beautician and taught me all about hair care, manicures, pedicures, and cosmetics.

either she or i would do my pedicures.

my neigbor asked me if i ever had a pro pedicure from a salon, and i replied no.

she was thinking of going to have her nails cut and a pedicure done but is worried when they cut her toe nails that she should not bleed. she said she would like to go monthly because she can no longer bend her knees enough to do a pedicure. she was worried about the salon not following strict sanitizing rules and had very valid concerns.

i told her it was very important to find a good licensed salon with no complaints against it, which followed strict sanitation of all their instruments used on their customers in the salon, and the person doing the nails should be licensed by the state.

i told her i would post here and perhaps the experts can give tips for what she should look for, and questions to ask before having a pedicure done, since many botched pedicures have caused trips to hospitals with various infections.
