I have Sjogren's syndrome and Crohn's disease. When they flare, my skin and hair go crazy. Have hair under control but could use some help with skin. You don't need a medical condition to respond.

I have hair under control. But just washed m/u off and my skin on cheeks is red and hot. I already use LaRoche Posy cleanser and just used up their moisturizer. As soon as I can get to CVS I'll buy their special water spray. Until then I don't know what to put on face. I have L'Occitane shea butter, some moisturisers for sensitive skin that I use on my body. I sleep on a silk pillowcase.

I'd welcome any suggestions. I will be putting humidifiers on but this happened this summer when I was in the hospital.

You might consider trying dermatologist recommended Cera Ve or Cetaphil. They're both very mild. Some years ago I had a horrible breakout on my face from my Clarisonic - a dermatologist told me to stop using it and start using Cera Ve cleanser and moisturizer. I did that - everything cleared up, and I haven't stopped using it since then. It's very reasonably priced and is available at Walgreen's, Walmart, etc.

I have super sensitive skin too. My derm said to never ever use cortisone on your face. Your derm can possibly give you an RX. Cera Ve sure has saved me from the "red hot" face. I had allergy testing by my derm and I was so allergic to one chemical that was sadly in almost everything I was using. Now I have to read every label for all cosmetics and shampoos, but it made a world of difference in my skin.

I have medical issues and super sensitive skin. I also have a ton of allergies so that just compunds the situation. Nothing works for me two days in a row because I have a lot of variables. Here's my list of what I use:

Purity Made Simple to remove makeup at night and to wash my face. ( The formula has changed with the selling of the company but it still is a decent product ...and gentle)

Dr. Denese Omega 3 Phytofix Cleansing Balm to wash my face in am. (You only need a small amount to clean your face and neck--less than the size of a dime, It is very gentle.

Note: either of these you could use for both day and night and to remove make-up. That system works for others but doesn't for me with my conditions.

I will get large red blotches, rashes, etc. on my face from allergies, etc. When I have this type of "episode" then I usually just cleanse my face and don't put anything on it until it "settles" (Note: the Dr. Denese will leave your skin feeling slightly moisturized)

If you want a moisturizer or a multi task product then I use the Day Cream by Dr. Denese. This is an moisturizer, sunscreen, foundation (BB/CC cream) and treatment all in one. I prefer the jar formula over the tube. It will tame down the redness, etc.

Hope one of these helps you.

I use the Omega 3 Theratears brand. That's what was used in the study. I used to get it on Drugstore.com. Since that's gone I'll try Amazon. Some drugstores have it but it was cheaper online.

I didn't have luck with Restasis. There's a new med out for dry eye that a friend has had some success with.

I also run two humidifiers. One in my living run and one in the bedroom. That's good for skin and hair also.

My derm's nurse said to use Aquaphor. It worked.
