IT COSMETICS - NOT FOR ME

A few weeks ago IT Cosmetics had a this day only super sized super deal on their "your skin only better" 50SPF make-up. I decided to try it, especially since the reviews on every product is really good. Well, I thought it came with the brush they were using to apply it -- seems it didn't. They said if you were unsure about the shade to choose, go with "medium" because it pretty much works for everyone. So, that's what I did. Well, let me tell you -- after applying it, I looked like I had a bad sunburn or was ready for Halloween. Definitely not my shade. But, that's not my only complaint.....this stuff is so drying - I look like I have aged. I just don't get all the raving reviews on these products.

Everyone is so different and trying products to find what works for each of us is tedius and expensive. I don't use much make up, but found that IT's liquid make up in "light" works well for a light coverage for my Scots/Irish skin that has some redness. I tend to be dry and found ITs products to not dry out my skin. I also use a little cheek color and a lipstick. However tried liking ITs eyebrow pencils and was very disappointed in the mechanisms and the amount of product for the money and don't buy those anymore.

@moon_gazer I know. Everyone raved about IT Cosmetics, especially their CC cream. I tried the IT Confidence in the Cream, and it made me breakout. But I thought the CC cream might be different. So, I tried that, and it made me breakout, too. I guess I am allergic to something in the IT Cosmetics. It's too bad, because the CC cream feels pretty good on my skin and looks pretty good, too. I do not have super sensitive skin. Right now I am using the Cover Girl CC cream, and it does not break me out, and neither does Loreal or Revlon products.

I bought the two compact set with brush, and it's ok. The brush makes my skin itch if I press too hard. The powder foundation doesn't cover as well as I had hoped. How come they show it covering rosasea and dark spots, yet my lighter issues don't get much at all? I kept it but won't buy again when there are less expensive powder foundations out there.

It does seem like IT sends a different product than what they demonstrate on air. The difference is night and day.

But "they work with plastic surgeons" so how can it be bad!! I don't get how working with plastic surgeons makes skin care better, a dermatologist maybe! But be that as it may, IT hasn't worked for me either

I agree. It settles my skin and shows pores that I do not really have! It looks like a mask. Just awful! What a waste of money. I will use it up to wear when doing yard work or walking the dogs....only when I do not care how bad I look😳😲😝

I bought it too. I don't hate it anymore than anything else I have tried for my oily t zone, large pores and aging skin. I wish I could find something I really love but so far nothing seems to work for me. The CC cream runs to my lines and settles in them so fast.

sweet serenity, me too! I started using purity a few years ago with a clarisonic, continue my prescription retin-a from the derm for past 7 years (I'm 62) and I quit wearing foundation. my skin is smooth, clear, even toned and wrinkle free the only face makeup I wear is neutrogena water gel moisturizer and a cream (IT brand) blush. less is more for me.

@hopi....also makes me wonder who’s writing these reviews and if they’ve tried the product for more than a few days.

There should be review regulations that, especially cosmetics, should be used for 2 wks. before submitting an honest review.

This 'it' CC cream is the best for me since I only need light coverage. I think it's all about applying the correct amount of moisturizer before use. Then, I apply a very tiny amount of CC. This product goes a long way. Not sure why the OP looked sunburned. I find this covers even the slightest redness on my skin.

@moon_gazer, I agree with you as far as the appeal of IT. Very thick and the shades start off dark. I tried out at ULTA and said never again.

I like the CC cream. I have been mixing it with the illumination. I have the trial size in the regular. I will but the full size once it is gone instead of the illumination. I don't find it drying at all. But my skin is normal not dry if I take care of it. I basically pitched all my old stuff and have mostly IT now. I find they always do what they claim. My skin feels better after wearing the CC cream also. But everyone doesn't like the same things and everyone's skin is different.

I tried their CC cream just because I got a sample when I ordered something else. I so wish I hadn't tried it. I used one of my Trish McEvoy brushes. When I cleaned the brush, the brush hairs started falling out like crazy. Made me wonder what in the world was in that CC cream because I've used the brush with more than one brand and had no issues. That cost me $42 and that was only because I had an HSN $10 off coupon.

you are right! a Derm would know more about skin.

I love the It CC cream. It's just the best for my skin. The coverage, the color, and the finish are gorgeous on me.

The SPF of 50 and the other beneficial ingredients are just the frosting on the cake.

I tried the CC cream when it first came out and felt it was too yellow. I did use it though. I have also returned several of the IT items and made a mental note not to fall for the presentations and be careful about ordering again. I have the new cleanser in the tube and it is okay, but not fantastic. I have had to return several times in the past.
