Mascara that doesn't go everywhere

Need help, I've bought from low end to high end mascara when I first put it on and look away from mirror ( magnifying) to put mascara up when I look back it has went under my eyes not flake just like smear ,what am I doing wrong? HELP PLEASE

is there not one out there that really works

I have really oily skin including eyelids which most mascaras cannot handle. Julep makes the BEST mascara and it holds up to my oiliness!!

Tips for gorgeous lashes:

- apply to top lashes only

- allow to dry in between coats

- try not to close your eyes or blink while the mascara dries

- keep an eye on your lashes as they dry to figure out what is causing them to smear.

Julep mascara is not waterproof so it's easy enough to remove it. If they still smear get a cotton swab with micellar water and clean up the smear.

Eyelash primer might do the trick by helping the mascara adhere and stay on the lashes. There are may brands to choose from.

Are you using a setting spray of any kind on your face? Or a shine product on your hair? Either of them can make your mascara smear.

I have had very good luck with Estee Lauder Double Wear mascara. Never flakes or smears. It is a little drier than most mascaras and maybe does not go on as thick and plush but it stays put.

I use IT Cosmetic Tightline on my lower lashes (Waterproof) and Tarte Lights Camera Lashes (Purple tube) on upper (3 coats, let each coat try a tad) been doing this for YEARS, I always have people asking me what I use.

I use MAC Gigiblsck lash Mascara on my bottom lashes. I saw a tip on YouTube about applying a setting powder to your under eye and this will help with traveling and smearing mascara. Mascara on the lower lashes smears because of the oils or liquid products on your under Eye area, so it makes sense that using a good setting powder would help. It works for me. It’s worth a try.

I can't because it WILL be all over my upper cheek, so I line under my eyes.

@tippygirl, I use Origins Fringe Benefits because it is offered in dark brown but it is also a nice mascara (it comes in black too). Under $20 and gives you fullness and length. If you are placing your mascara on the lower lashes stop. If not, you need a change. Mascara has to dry but it should not go under your lower lashes right after you apply.

@SilleeMee, Dior has an excellent mascara primer. It thickens the lashes and adds some length. I received a sample.

The only mascara that doesn't make my eyes water and come off below my eyes is Trish McEvoy's mascara that makes little tubes. It stays on but is easy to wash off. I LOVE this stuff!

I have had mascara problems for 50+years due to allergies. Many years I didn't wear any and I, like you, have tried every one on the market. I have really fallen for the Doll 10 Effort Lash. Good Luck. I hope you find something you like and works well for you. I sure know your plight.

I have the same problem as OP. I can apply mascara and later look in the mirror and OMG. I don't apply to bottom lash either. I have used so many high and low end mascaras. I finally got Almay waterproof and it stays put and not that hard to get off. Also my eyes don't burn anymore.

I've had the same problem for YEARS!

I hated waterproof mascara because they seemed so drying and removing was so difficult.

Recently, I've discovered IT Superhero Mascara. It is the ONLY mascara that doesn't transfer, flake or leave smudges under my eye.

I usually use maybelline but I also LOVE almay mascara, easy to apply, stays put, doesn't flake onto your cheekbone. East to take off when I wnat to take it off (with PTR facial wash which is what I use). No tugging or fighting with the removal either.

Try Almay, makes your lashes longer & fuller. You can find it anywhere, inexpensive too.

I have had very oily skin my whole life, and I have tried so many different mascaras, but the best one that I have used is Cover Girl Clump Crusher. It really never clumps and it stays on all day. I have decided, however, that I simply can't use mascara on my lower lashes. It just doesn't work for me.
