I finally broke down and bought Tarte Shape Tape and I have no clue what to do with this. I've heard there is a learning curve and I will try but totally underwhelmed. It is very yellow on me. I ordered medium which I always get but it is really yellow. I will work with it but any recommendations? It isn't even good coverage. Looks horrible. 😔

These run dark. I am a light olive complexion and originally tried the medium and found it to be a tad orange as well. I settled with light-medium which is perfect. I also might add that retail has more offers to choose from, including neutrals - medium neutral, light neutral, etc.so you may want to look there in the event you selected your shade from here on the Q.

As far as the application, you simply must be doing something wrong. The coverage is rather superb in my opinion using the moistened beauty blender sponge. Perhaps you can ask for assistance from your local Ulta or Sephora for application tips???

I have to agree with you. I have read so many raves about this and I continue to scratch my head. It is horrible and dry. I much prefer the Tarte maracuja concealer. Maybe it's my age (67) and because my undereye is very dry, but even when I thoroughly moisturize, it settles into my lines and wrinkles and accentuates then. I keep trying it, but for me, it IS awful!.

I do think the lighter color would be better but still not sure it's for me. I am 60 with dry skin and it settled in every line. I will try using less product and work at it a bit. I do think going in to an Ulta for assistance might help. I really wanted to like this.

I saw the demo on QVC and I bought it at Ulta. It was so thick even though I only used a small amount and used a damp sponge. I'm old and it made me look so much older. I returned it. I wanted to like it too.

I need to experiment with my concealers and thinning them down. I am sure the Shape Tape is the HG for many people but not every product works for everyone. I don't want to say it's not a good product. Just not for me.

@KCDiva I purchased this in Fair a couple months ago. I like it! I also like the sponge that came with it, although I'm using the sponge for my foundation more than for the Shape Tape!

As for the Shape Tape.... I moisturize well before applying it. Then, I tap the smallest amount of product on the back of my hand. I use my middle finger to pick up a little bit of the Shape Tape, and then apply that to my undereye. I just tap it in, stippling with my finger to blend.

I'm 63. If not moisturized well, it will settle into fine lines. But, it's working well for me. I don't remember the last time I used my Bye Bye Undereye. That said, I would still try other concealers, so, as much as I like it, I'm not sure yet if it's my holy grail. Just the best i've found so far.

I love this! I have bad underye "allergy" circles, and this covers them. At first I got my regular color, which I still use. Then I got a shade lighter (after trying my DD's) and I like it better for under my eyes. I use the regular one to hide anything else on my face. I do use a light, light touch - and I use my fingers, which for me seem to work better.

Yes I was excited to try it when I got it and and put it on and hadn't properly moisturized. The color is definitely wrong though. I am sure I used to much. I haven't given up on the product.

I'm 50 with extremely dark, hereditary circles and textured undereye. Here's how I use it:

I do not apply moisturizer, they drag my skin down making me look lined and crepey before I begin. My serums have enough hyaluronic acid to keep this area supple without added moistuizer. I know this goes against everything you hear but it works for me.

I color correct using a tiny bit of Erase Paste just on the dark area, not the whole undereye. I then follow with a tiny bit IT BBE which tends to be shiney and moisturizing. That's when I add the tiniest bit of Shape Tape in a lighter shade, again just to the darkest parts not spread all under the eye. I use my finger to tap-in each product. Then I complete with the lightest tapping of LM Brightening Powder to set-only in the darkest area not the whole undereye area. No creasing, not drying, stays all day. I can't emphasize enough the need for the tiniest of product to achieve. Hope this helps!

Less is more with Shape Tape! When I use it, I use a minimal amount and will build it as needed, I tap it in to smooth, then tap over it with a damp beauty blender sponge.

I have also found that you need to work the product quickly, as it has a fast dry down.

Since I am not so young anymore, I don't bake it, that just causes too much settling! Sometimes I don't even set it, if i need to "touch up" I just use a damp sponge and dab dab dab, smoothes it right out!
