Goodbye Tweezerman

What happened to this excellent product of years ago? I purchased a slant pair yesterday at ULTA and the darn tweezers do not grab the hairs. How are you suppose to tweeze your eyebrows? I am returning to ULTA -- so disappointing. Anyone else have a recent problem with these tweezers? I need to find an alternative. Any suggestions?

They aren't made where or how they use to be. Check, bet it's now from China or India, whereas the older ones were Germany or Italy. I know because I went on a "good tweezer" quest about 10 yrs ago, and after buying at least half a dozen, gave up. Still using my broken old Tweezerman ones.

The Floxite slanted tweezers I bought here are really good. They come in 8x magnification mirror case.

I'm also on a quest for tweezers that work like the ones I had years ago. I was never a huge fan of Tweezerman. I went so far as to spend $50 on another brand that got great reviews but didn't work on me. I have been using Anastasia also but sometimes I have to try to grab the hair 4 or more times. You can send your old pair out to get them sharpened but I've never tried that. I remember years ago even Revlon made great tweezers.

So happy to see this topic here. I will have to try Anastasia. I also remember when Revlon tweezers did the job. But then my eyesight was better and my hands were steadier!

@Carol Diane @mimilucy, I ended up with purchasing tweezers made in Germany on EBay for $13.93, free shpg. I should have on Friday. They are Topinox slanted made in Soligen, Germany. THey are Pink coated.

I am a fanatic about my eyebrows ... sorry to hear about the tweezerman...

I have them .. every once in a while if they are not working right I have to

squeeze the metal together ....however . the other problem .. I am having

trouble getting to the hairs between the wrinkles ....Yikes .. so I am moving

to having them waxed more often ....Old age you know ..!!

@Big Joanie, Just pull the skin in the direction of away from the nose. This way it smooths everything out. At this stage in the game you have to find ways to make life easier. lol

Best tweezers I ever used is Revlon's. I paid 12 bucks for it. It's excellent.

Another vote for Revlon!

I also used to use Tweezerman- even sent them to the company a few years ago to be sharpened (used to be part of the guarantee). My new ones didn't work well, but I'm happy with my black slanted Revlon tweezers.

I've tried the Tweezerman and was disappointed in them. Kept poking myself and getting red marks - not attractive.

I too loved the Revlon ones, but can't seem to replace the one I really liked. The feel cheaper.

I have two of the pink Anastasia tweezers and they are the best. One pair has been used daily for over 10 years and still works great. I bought the second pair as a back up. The best and most used beauty item that I ever purchased from QVC.

I still use and love the same scissor-like tweezers I've had for decades - don't know the brand or where I bought them, but I'm sure it was a drugstore somewhere and they were super cheap.
