Another shampoo thread.

Does anyone know of a good smoothing shampoo? Mabe also smoothing as well as volumizing. Can be drugstore or salon. Not interested in wen. Looking to try something new

I like Nick Chavez products for controlling frizz and giving alot of volume.

@kcladyz, Here are two suggestions: Aquage Smoothing shampoo and Aquage Voluminzing treatment.

For just normal hair, I get particularly good results (smoothing) with Carol's Daughter Cupuacu. Also, have you tried the Ovation? I really like that, too!

(You wouldn't believe the frizz I used to get with WEN!) But no more!

But maybe it's in the styling, too....before I blow dry I've been using Chaz's styling cream & glossing serum...that is, until Nick came along. So, now I've been using Nick's velvet mesquite serum -- equally good for shine and extra smoothness!

@blackhole99 I've been liking NC's newer sulfate free s&c! I purchased the supersizes with pumper bottles. His Mesquite products used after (the spray and gel) add volume.

@Harpa Don't you find smoothing shampoos and volumizing shampoos difficult to find in one product? I just try to use a good s&c and count on my styling products for no frizz and volume (hint: silicones are the enemy of volume).

Hi, @Shanus,

I know there are silicones in those styling serums. You have to use a drop or 2 when hair is soaking wet (like both Chaz & Nick recommend.)

Maybe it is my hair type, but I always get tons of volume and bounce, but I've also been heat styling my hair w/ silicone hot rollers.

@Harpa I do use a drop of Nick's Mesquite's Serum before drying for heat protection. I use a silicone free gel or mousse for volume.

I alternate between Nick Chavez Volumizing Shampoo/Conditioner and L'Oreal Extrordinary Oil line. Dry oils tame the frizzes, I use the volume set when needed!

@kcladyz, My friend was a hair stylist and he told me to place a little shampoo in a separate bottle and fill with water. Today we wash our hair either every other day or every day so it's not dirty. This way you save some money because you don't need to purchase so quickly.

I hear ya. I always had that problem with Pantene.
