Peter Thomas Roth magazine ad

Came across this yesterday reading a new magazine. It was the man himself, facial hair, and a form fitting white t-shirt on. Having seen him recently on QVC, I am not impressed. But, I guess many magazine readers won't have seen him be creepy at times.

The ad is for his hyaluronic face cream. Interpretation has to be "this is a hot guy so use this product!" Doesn't work for me as I don't see how it matters for a product!

I remember not too long ago, it was his estranged wife appearing in an ad. Just not getting it!!

To me he is a bit creepy - not handsome at all as he thinks he is.

I like him and his product line. I met him many years ago at a beauty bash. He's a very kind and generous man. Plus, I see results from his line!

His retinol fusion PM is awesome!!!

He gave attendees at the beauty bash a full sized unwrinkle--$110 and some other items!

Is it this ad? I don't think he looks bad in this ad at all. He looks a bit like Tom Ford in his print ads.

Air brushing and photo editing does wonders. OT- Suffer from dry skin researching best treatments started using African Shea butter coldpressed along with oils treatment mask daily. Worked!! No, that's not the same photo used in the one I saw! He is in a v neck white t-shirt, not tight, but form fitting. No jacket on and a completely different pose, hair a bit different, left hand tucked into pocket of jeans. Why???

I find that strange, that they would use a different photo in the same ad. Usually you get a very pretty WOMAN showing us how great she looks (supposedly from using the product). I guess they are trying a different approach!

This spiteful, malevolent attack prompted me to reexamine my skincare arsenal, focusing on the merits of the products rather than the ad campaign. Peter Thomas Roth products are, with very rare exceptions, top of the line, unparalleled in content and efficacy. His do not depend on "drama", " working with plastic surgeons" on the payroll, ancient recipes or newly developed super"molecules"as many of the popular lines on Q do. And who better to represent the line than the developer himself? Another airhead supermodel? He hasn't sold out to L'Oreal or Coty or unknown LLC as have almost all of his competitors has he?

The intent of this thread was to disparage, the effect, however, is to prompt unbiased evaluation of skincare expenditures and to fortify resolve- All 5 star PTR essentials- Cleansers, masques, antioxidants, retinol, hydrators/moisturizers- back on AutoDelivery for me!

I've tried many of his products in the past and his products never impressed me and some actually irritated my skin and dried it out. So, for me, his products are not top of the line and unparallel. It may be to you but not to everyone. There is not a single company out there where one can proclaim it unparallel since we are all different and not everyone works for everyone.

And yes, he has his silly shticks, like digging for the "rare" Iris moor mud, lol. so silly and yes, full of drama. They ALL have their shticks.

Also, although he may not have sold out to larger parent companies, he did go back to animal testing in order to sell to China so he is still all about the $$$, if that is what you were implying about not selling out to large conglomerates. He used to be cruelty free but no longer. And perhaps there is a reason he hasn't sold out yet. Perhaps there have been no offers to do so or he is holding out for better offers. Who knows.
