I rarely take the time to do it, but placing a single thickness of tissue or tp over your lipstick applied lips and then powdering on top of the tissue makes your lipstick matte down a little and last longer.

I don't really know if this is a tip but a lot of times if I don't want the look of my matte lipsticks, I will use a matt lip color, allow to set for a minute, or blot, and then take a more moisturizing shade or gloss and apply over. The matt seems to be more long-lasting and acts as a base and then the other lipstick or gloss adds a nice sheen and moisture.

Plus, 2 xmas's ago I bought 3 JM's fragrance tsv's that came with a nude lippie. They were gifts & my Friend & Mom did not like the lippie's, so now I have 3! Its not drying but is excellent for lightening a deeper shade .Any matte beige works tho.

This will be fun thread!

Apply your lipstick as usual.... then right in the middle of your lower lip and the mid-point of your upper lip, swipe a lighter shade. This will make your lips look fuller.

Apply your lipstick as usual.... blot with tissue, then apply a second coat. Your lipstick will last hours longer (OK, everybody already knows this one already!).

I've posted this before. I no longer wear "traditional" lipsticks, i.e. opaque shades. I hate applying lipliner, and this type would always bleed or feather (sometimes even with lipliner). Now I apply CoverGirl Outlast Lip Stain #445, let it dry while I put on the rest of my makeup, then use a tinted balm, or other sheer lipcolor over it.

The sheer color doesn't show if it does feather, and when it fades, I still have a bit of color on my lips until it's convenient to reapply the sheer color. Unless I'm going out after work, I don't reapply the stain at all, just the sheer color.

Currently I'm liking Clinique Color Pop in Sugar Plum Pop and Licorice Pop. They have a nice clear shine...NO shimmer or glitter. I also have Clinique Black Honey, and some Palladio (sp?) that I got from Sally's that are very nice, too.

The bit of shine in these products is just enough to minimize the wrinkles in my 62 year old lips!

But, hey, if it works....I've been using a lip primer by Trish called Flawless Lip Primer. It's applied before starting makeup to allow to set, applied over the just barely over the outline of lips and then fill in lips. It prevents the color from bleeding into fine line around lips & I do notice color stays on longer. I also line & fill in lips w/ pencil closest to my natural lip color (not the lipstick). Mally makes a double ended one that's purchased by fair, medium, etc.

My lips are so thin that I need to cheat on making them look visibly bigger. What I do to make them look bigger is line my lips just outside my true lip line and go straight across the cupid's bow, no dip. Then fill in the rest with the pencil and apply my lippy. To make my lip products stay on longer, I apply my Milano eyeshadow primer first...this has a faint tint to it but not enough to make a difference on my lips.
