Does Ulta offer a bday gift like Sephora?

My birthday was last weekend and I've been enjoying Sephora's Tarte birthday gift. I thought Ulta offered something last year, but I didn't see anything in an email this year. Anyone know if Ulta also offers a birthday gift?

@Stargazer77 I have never done this before, but I believe you're supposed to get an email offer for your birthday gift, and another one for a $10 off coupon. Plus 2x points for all purchases during your birthday month.

Correction: It seems the $10 coupon only applies to Platinum customers. Sorry for my mistake!

Yes, for my birthday it was Urban Decay's eyeshadow single Midnight Cowboy.

Urban Decay website if you reach a certain status also offers an eyeshadow single of your choice for your birthday too.

Yep. They are supposed to send you an email with a coupon for your free gift. Last year they didn't send me my coupon, and all I had to do was email customer service. They responded with a code to use to get my gift.

I wonder if the gifts vary with region because the gift I got last year was Urban Decay's "Midnight Cowboy". I certainly wouldn't want the same thing this year, as I haven't even used that one.

I don't recall getting any kind of $10 coupon though.

That UD shadow was for those with summer birthdays if I recall from June - August.

@Venezia I think Ulta varies the birthday gift by quarter, and last year both 3Q and 4Q got that e/s. The $10 coupon goes to Platinum members.

@Stargazer77 for 1Q17 it was a deluxe sample of a Benefit primer, and for 2Q it's a deluxe sample of a new (?) Lancome mascara.

@moosesgal May I suggest you opt for the Tarte set at Sephora. I chose the Caudalie it was quite underwhelming.

Referring to Ulta, I do like that they give me extra points which I can use to take a few bucks off a future purchase during my birhday month. I recently cashed in some Ulta points (750) to get a Vichy Aqualia Thermal Eye Balm ($30 value). I left with a smile on my face and no money needed.

I've never gotten any birthday offer from Ulta -- maybe it's because I buy barely anything there. I do get my gift from Sephora every year. Did choose the Tarte and liking the blush.

@Stargazer77 I saw these posts yesterday and wondered about the gift, too, since my birthday was a few days ago. I was headed to Ulta anyway to buy a supersize Purity. The store I go to most often is not what I'd consider tops in the way of customer service. The pretty things that work in there often stand around chatting or making their own faces up and occasionally come over to see if there's anything they need to help with. Anyway, girl at counter tells me any birthday offers would come via email. I stand there and scroll through on phone, find nothing, offer to give her my Ulta Rewards card and license to prove birthday. She passes me to another pretty thing doing her makeup. She tells me I should call customer service and then says, "...they're pretty good about answering the phone quickly." Not what I'd call the correct reply, but........... Neither offered me any assistance by calling for me or looking anything up on their computer so I went to my car to call customer service. Gal was nice and emailed me the birthday reward. It was a $10 coupon and at checkout you get a new Lancome mascara sample.

I haven't bought anything from Sephora in a while because Ulta is closer, but I have over 2300 points so I'll make a stop in there to pick up whatever their birthday freebie.

Hi @BarbiHollywood! Happy Birthday to you, too! I emailed Ulta's customer service and they were very helpful and replied quickly. I showed the email to the salesperson at the store and there was no issue. I don't have a lot of points, so I just got the Lancome mascara, which I'm excited to try. It doesn't get released until July, according to the package. So I thought that was a fun gift. Enjoy your 10 dollar off coupon!

Btw, the salesperson I got yesterday was so nice. I also got an email about a free Benefit Bo-ing concealer with any purchase. So while I was up there doing my birthday thing I asked her about the coupon, if they still had it in stock and she said yes, there was one more and went to get it. I asked her if I needed to make a purchase and she asked me if I was planning to make one. I didn't really need anything, but could have found something if I had to, so she just added it to my bag and that was that. It was really nice of her. Another fun makeup treat to try.
