HI! everyone! I need some advice from cat mommies/dads. On Friday we got our 6 month old spayed and declawed in the front(not to start a debate over that please). Her front paws are doing well no issues but the spay is another story. They never gave us the cone to start with to keep her from licking. We watched the best we could when home to stop her from it but you can only so much.

So yesterday my husband to her to the vet to have to looked at. I didnt like the pinkness/redness to it and it had a bad smell to it and just didnt "look good" to me at all. The vet claims its OK, just "irritated" from licking, has some mild drainiage, and the glue is starting to break down already, and it looks like it might be on the start of infection. Now my poor baby has to wear the cone and gets amoxicillin to be on the safe side.

Poor little lady HATES both of these things.

Has anyone else experienced any issues with their cat getting spayed?

My husbands dog when he was younger ripped out all of the actual stitches and had it opened up even and ended up healing up no problems..... This is my first fur baby and I am just so worried about her.

Thanks everyone I just need some advice moral support on this.
