I've read some blog that say to use a balm first, others say to use a balm.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="book antiqua,palatino"&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;How do all of you matte lipstick wearers prepare your lips for color? &amp;nbsp;Any certain brands? &amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="book antiqua,palatino"&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;Should I use an exfoliant prior to wearing and do any of you apply anything on top of the color once it's on? &amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="book antiqua,palatino"&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;I know this is many questions within one question, but as I've said before, the best advice I've ever gotten on anything makeup, skin, hair or nail care has come from all of my friends here. &amp;nbsp;I trust each and every one of you! &amp;nbsp;Thank you! &amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;HR /&gt;&lt;/BLOCKQUOTE&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://community.qvc.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/30607"&gt;@Quinny&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;-&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I think the drying aspect of matte lipsticks is pretty typical. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;As for lip primers, conditioners and balms all being the same thing, I don't think they are exactly. &amp;nbsp;A primer would be something you apply first in order for your lip color to stay on longer. &amp;nbsp;I suppose it's possible that a primer could be drying too, I personally don't use one other than if a little of my BB/CC cream gets on my lips unintentionally. &amp;nbsp;Conditioners and balms would be something that would treat your lips. &amp;nbsp;You need to be careful when selecting a conditioner or balm because many of them could actually dry out your lips too. &amp;nbsp;Traditional Chapstick, IMO, is one of the worst. &amp;nbsp;I used to know someone who wouldn't be without her Chapstick and she was always complaining about how dry her lips were and she was constantly reapplying it.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Lip exfoliation would help get rid of those dry bits of skin you might have on your lips, but it doesn't end there. &amp;nbsp;I think you need a good lip treatment too. &amp;nbsp;I do exfoliate my lips - sometimes it's just with whatever I'm using on my face but other times when I make a point of it I'll use the Skinn lip exfoliator. &amp;nbsp;I really like the Skinn Lip 6x Balm as a lip treatment too. I put it on before bed and I'll also use it during the day when not wearing traditional lipstick or gloss. &amp;nbsp;I've honestly not had a case of chapped lips since I've started doing this. &amp;nbsp;The Beekman lip balm is good too.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
